La, la, la, we'll sing about it...

Here's another drawing from my songbook, it's of Rene in the tent, the rain is hammering down outside. I'm sitting on our blow-up bed, writing a song about it, and then start drawing Rene. The colours were produced by some wild blackberries, an ivy leaf and some barbeque charcoal. I love it.
Rene was playing a game on her phone at the time.
I called the song, 'La, la, la, ( we'll sing about it )'. It's basically a song that describes the time, being trapped by an exterior force, wondering if it would ever let up, and then when it did, seeing an even greater, blacker cloud moving in, but knowing, that together, we could get through, in our little bubble. Then we'd sing about it, in this very song. It's the sound of heavy rain on a flimsey tent, thinking, were dry, but will we be ok. A positive affirmation that this time, will pass, and we'd look back on the time with fondness, that we survived!
And we did, of course. We've had some great time's in that tent, with I'm sure, more to come.

Something about being in a tent when it's raining outside. I really enjoy it, too.

I wish I could say something inspirational and witty but today isn't the best day for me. I'll try harder tomorrow.

Man!!! thats good artwork. I envy such people that can sit and scetch out a drawing from the heart like this. Makes my stick people look a little skinny and bleak.

You are a v. talented artist.
Tents are no fun when it's raining...that is, unless you have the right things to do.

Hey Mikey, I espessualy like this drawing because rain is one of my favourite things. I don't know a lot of people who like it...but I grew up with the sound of thunderstorms from a cassete tape right before bed when I was little. I must just be used to it. Anyway, rain can also be frustrating, defintly when you want to get out and do something, so i understand how you and Rene felt.
Fab picture! Can't wait for some more!

Wow Mikey, you are a brilliant artist as well as musician! I am from a family of artists, so I'm very serious about this. I love the way that you used the elements from your surroundings as your tool. Very beautiful!

No need to try harder Jessica, you comment was lovely,
And Michael, bleak is good, how about 'Lowary', I think I've spelt his name wrong, but I mean the artist who painted matchstick men and women, and matchstick cat's and dogs. There was a song written about him. Thanks.
Thankyou Lindsay, I know what you mean,
Thanks Lucy, I haven't got a cd out at the moment, or any complete downloads, sorry, but with all these comments, it may happen soon. I know I'm lucky, thanks for all your kind words, about the gigs, who know's, it would be cool. Thanks again Lucy.
Well Gary, it's one of those things, the weather was hot, the dryest summer in 100 years, all the lakes were down 10 feet. Then it poured for a couple of days on and off, during the night, and everyone said it was freak weather. Just our luck, but we were fine and had a great time.
By the way, the term 'pants', means 'not cool' or 'terrible'.
Thanks Claire, more pictures comming up.
Thanks Mike, you are not forgotton.
Cheers Carrie, thats my favourite thing to, two different blackberries gave me two different colours completely, the trouble is that these very natural colours have a short life span, but putting them on a blog, holds them in a moment of time. Check out the next one, thanks again.
