Wanting.

Today I got up really early, well for me anyway. Rene phoned and woke me up with the news that a portion of Southend pier had burnt down, so I opened my heavy eyes and turned the television on, waiting for a news report. Unbelievable, I thought, I was only up there on Friday with Brendan, doing the filming for 'Wanting'. The movie includes many scene's of the effected area, and is probably the last footage taken. I rushed out with my binoculars, and sat on the beach. There was still a little smoke rising, and all of the station end, the pub, the shop, the resturant and the amusement arcade had completely gone. Last night we heard helicopters flying around, but just thought they were on the tail of joyriders.
Here's some photo's of me and Rene on Southend pier last year. We've just watched the DVD of 'Wanting', with me on the pier footage. I've spent the day with Brendan editing the movie at his house. She loved it, and I hope you all do too.
It will be shown tomorrow, apart from that, I don't really know what else is happening. I haven't thought up my 'useless fact' yet, and I'm really tired. I got a headache at Brendan's, I think it was staring at a computer screen for too long. Brendan gave me a lift home, and Rene took care of me. My headaches much better, well actually it's completely gone.
Hope everyone gets a good feed for tomorrow, and enjoys the show, give me a shout. mikey

I get headaches alot too. My doc says it is because I am dehydrated. So now every day I drink close to or more than a gallon of water. Normally a bit of water and a nap keeps it away. I wonder why that pier burns down so much. It seems like it burns often. I bet it is those damn pyros (Disturbed teens who light crap on fire). That is a beautiful area. What is the weather like? I want to get out of this damn desert that I am in, I absoloutely hate the heat. Sometimes my cousins who live up north ask what the weather is like, and I give them an honest answer: Hell. I'd rather be freezing than burning.

I am mailing a letter to matt kent, for that who contest. I am positive I have both answers. I hope my letter is picked.
See you around,
-Kevin

Terrible news Mikey. Its sad to see something like this happen. All the memories lost for so many people. I'm sure youve had some good times on the pier. I hope it wasn't some bloke trying to get insurance money. Greed is a terrible thing. michael :(

What a bummer-that is so sad. What a difference a day makes....and to think you were just there.
I love your pictures. I was inspired to go horseback riding yesterday after looking at the pic you took while camping. We had a beautiful day here in Texas. It has finally got cooler--75. The sunrise was just fantastic. You are very lucky to have that to wake up to every morning. Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to tomorrow. Belinda

Great show today Mikey. I have a question. What do you think about Takamani Acoustics. I was looking to buy one, it was around 1,000.00 american $$$. Or should I see what Rachel wants for her Taylor?

Mike, Brilliant show today!

I love your nature photos. I'm sorry about the pier. How ironic that you were just there filming.

I put up some beautiful nature photos from northern Minnesota on my blog this morning. You can see where I spent Sunday/Monday, at our version of the ocean: Lake Superior. It's not the ocean, but it does have waves, and it's haunting and evocative.

Today your webcast was just plain fun!

Thanks,
Brina

Great show today Mikey!

I loved your video for "Wanting", the musical arrangement in that song is terrific. Was it a demo that you made at home or was it done at the studio?

I could tell by your collaboration with Simon on the show today that he is defintitely the right producer for your CD.

Your photographs are great too. I should print out the one with the horses, keep it with me and if I ever feel angry or stressed I could look at it and relax :)

Cheers,

Tom

Mikey,
great show today. Loved all the songs you did today esp. "Wanting". My wife really likes the one you have on the Bluebell Wood dvd, I'm adding her to your fan club.

Thanks also for mentioning my name, it made me jump up and down in my office.. lucky the door was closed.. :-)

That Collins guitar sounded wicked for its size, did it sound as big in the room as it did online?

Thoroughly enjoyed myselft today.

Am going to try and re-do vocal on Come Into My World, add some piano and get more tracks on Stephani's song tonight while she's out babysitting..

If you ever want to checkout the sunsets from the Huntington Beach Pier, you are more than welcome to be our guest. Our little house has a cool music room with amps and guitars and we are only a mile from the beach.

We could do In The Attic - from California..

Take care of yourself.

Hey Mikey, I love your red sneakers! I love your artwork. It's really wonderful and gripping. A pleasure to look at. You are so funny on WHOTV with Rachel. HA! When they were talking about not having a hit and you said, "I've gotten hit. Lots of times." You crack me right up. You said some other really hilarious witty things but I can't think of them at this moment. Funny though. Really funny. You sing very nice. Talented fellow, you are.

Fun show Mikey! I think I enjoyed it the best of all so far. I do NOT like the script.

I started a Map of Rachel fans...I am sorry but I meant to say YOUR fans too, however I have no idea how to edit the post. I went right back to to do so and I couldn't...so of course love to you from your fans as I am sure you already know. The link is on my blog and while it is just catching on, it is a start and you guys can see the ever growing list that I am sure will sign it.

WE WANT YOU IN THE USA!!!!!! Hope this proves that to both of you!

By the way. I never hear on the show or your posts your addressing your CD being produced and avaliable to the public. Could you please mention something in regards to it so we can all support you as well with purchasing your album!

Great talent you both have as well as making me laugh. OH And thanks for the shout out...I understand why you didn't want to listen to the song...and I DON'T Blame you at all! I am there with you! I did suggest I give you both names of dance moves and have you improvise them on the next show regardless if you know their names, i.e...Plie, pirouette (turns), leaps, degage...etc...Ballet terms. I think it would be great fun for the whole audience to see you both do a little jig and make us laugh at the song!

Have a great week. I am super busy startng NOW...bye!-Molly

Hi Kevin, the weather here is very seasonal, Summers are hot, Winters are cold, we do get snow here from time to time but its never that bad. I really enjoy the different seasons, the beach is best during the winter, millions of birds migrate to the estuary every winter, the sun sets and rises over the sea, and there's knowone about.
Thanks Michael, I'll check it out.
Hi Belinda, sounds like you had a brilliant time, I love riding. Thanks for sharing that, hoped you liked the show.
Hi ya Lucy, I'm really sorry to hear about your mum, I'll do anything I can to cheer her up, you just ask. Shame you going to miss next weeks show but I'm sure you'll have a great time in Majorca, you can see the re-run. Have a great half term, I hope you have a brilliant time, take care.
Sorry Michael, I've never heard of them before, but I don't know much about guitars. I'm sure the Taylor will be going up for a lot more than that one.
Thanks Brina, I'll be over to your blog later to check out them pictures, thanks, take care.
Thanks very much Mike, very kind.
Hi Tom, if only I could get that sound at home, no,'Wanting' was recorded in the studio with Simon's production. Glad you like the photo's, I'll put more up.
Thanks Britta Ruth, I've heard that Southend council has agreed to rebuild it, classic.
Thanks Gary, and thank you wife for me, that Collin's was truly amazing, it was that big in the room, clear as a bell as well.
That sounds like a beautiful invite, and if I ever get over the pond, sounds lovely. Cheers mate.
Cheers Si, its me who should be thanking you, with your help, we done the song justice. Can't wait to get back in the studio with you mate. Talk soon.
Thanks Izygrl, I hope its really soon, thankyou for you support, it means a real lot to little mikey.
Thanks Ptfan, I wasn't lying about being hit alot. I hope you continue to laugh and enjoy.
Thanks Johanna in Vista, I really appreciate your support. I hope I can get a CD out soon.
I agree Molly, but we never really had a script as such, just a list of things to do. Brilliant job doing the map thingy, don't worry about me, I'll take a look. As for the dance moves, I'm well up for it. As for my album, it's not out yet, but I really appreciate your sentiments and it will be out soon, please be patient, not fickle. I would love to come out to the States, lets hope things work out. Have a great week, don't be too busy. Thanks again Molly.
Cheers Claire, always good to hear your comments, hope the guitars going well for you. I'll put up some more of my photo's for you.
Thanks Janey, I'm glad you loved it, and hope your days less mundane in the future.
