Butterfly...

Really enjoyed the show last night, got the train home and watched the loop. It's really great to get such brilliant positive feedback, and to share a stage with such an amazing bunch of artists. We seemed to do alot more music yesterday. Glad to hear that the movie went well, and people like the music. There will be more to come.
Here's a picture taken by one of Rene's friends, we took Lucy to a local butterfly farm, its like a big heated conservatory, with big tropical plants and a huge fish pool. I love it in there, here you can see me (friend of the animals), just chatting to one of the butterflies. I really like this photo.

Oh, Mikey, that's a lovely photo! I can see a stamp of a butterfly on your hand? It looks especially nice in that butterfly garden! There's a town in California where thousands (millions?) of Monarch butterflies rest on their migration. It's called Pacific Grove and it has a butterfly for its symbol. There are all kinds of groves and parks and places where the butterflies stop and hang in the trees during that special time. It's amazing. You'd love it.

Again, the show yesterday was the best!

You and Simon sounded terrific together.

Love to you and Rene! Brina

Mikey - It was a great show, yes, lots more music. Hope you guys don't mind, but I've been saving some of the songs on my computer from the feeds, I promise these are only for my ears. Can't wait till your album is out and your legions of fans on this here blog can start lobbying their local radio stations, college radio, NPR etc. to play it.

I sent an email to the programming people at KCRW in Los Angeles yesterday in the hope that they could start to play Rachel's songs more. I think grass roots word of mouth is really helpful and would love to participate in spreading the word as much as possible, mostly because I think record companies do a pitiful job of promoting really talented artists these days.

I'm really excited for all of you. Simon said something at the end of one of his posts "I don't think I'll sleep tonight", well, I was wide awake at 4:15 remembering what a great show it was and got up early. And I think that is really cool.... (stretch....)

The show, and now your blog, is a great way to build up your groupie base. Your label will wonder what's going on when your newly released CD is snapped off the shelves.

Love the pic - I wonder if I could get my husband to go to the Conservatory the next time we are near Niagara Falls. He likes to say that hell hath no fury like a pissed off butterfly.

Mikey - I just love the positive replies you gave to everyone! Thank you for mine! Just FYI - I am rarely fickle! Just sarcastic and I know in this one dimensional world of internet that can be hard to catch sometimes! Just think RACHEL..my humor could really mesh with hers well.

I love the butterfly photo! We had butterflies at our wedding so they are a special symbol to me! It is also said that butterflies represent loved ones souls. I see Butterflies all the time and they remind me of my late mother. I just know she is near! You have a beautiful and sweet spirit and that is shown in this pic and is emanated through the internet show and It makes me want to keep watching!

Have a great week yourself. I will TRY to not be too busy, but I have a 2 year old and a very busy lifestyle! It is these little min. I can sneak over to the blogs to comment when I need a much needed break. Refreshing!

take it easy!-Molly

Hi Mikey,
Looks like everybody liked the show. Do a lot of people watch it in your area? If so do people recognize you in public? My mother is knitting you a sweater. If you can go to my Blog and give me:
measurements (ok if metric)
arm pit to wrist:
bottom of neck to belt:
That's all she needs and what is your favorite color she wants to know. She and my dad are going to london,I told her to see if you are playing out and say HI MIKEY!!!
Just give me these measurements at my Blog site (early Christmas present). She's all excited to knit Whistle a sweater too. michael :)

Hi Brina, thanks, I got the stamp on my hand when you enter the butterfly park thingy. I've see the place you spoke of on a nature documentary, I would love to see it for real though. It was great doing 'misery' with Simon, I've watched it back myself. I am very lucky, I know, thanks again Brina.
Hey Gary, your gonna end up with your own slot, keep up the good work. Glad your enjoying the shows, there real fun to do mate, glad you like the stuff I do.
Hi Kara, glad you popped by, Simon is truly a great artist, glad you caught the show. Call by again.
Lets hope so Janey, your husband is a wise man.
Thanks a million Elizebeth, its great to hear you say those lovely things about me, I very touched. I also know what you mean about the looped show, it's truly addictive.
I think your right Brina, but I've got so many songs I want to show you all. I'll add it to the list.
Glad you enjoyed the show Mark, I hope I can get a CD out soon, thanks for your support.
Hi Lucy, your not nuts, and you can be whatever you want to be, I've found that what you want from life changes as you change, its weird, I'm not giving advise, I'm glad youv'e left your demons, we've all had them at one time or another. Start taking loads of photo's, thats what photographer's do. I'll post up some downloads on my blog when I find out how to do it, and 'plastercine' will be the first, in yours and your mum's honer. Have a great time next week, el viva espania. Take care.
Thanks Molly, you know I kind'a played along, its my responce to sarcasm. My mum used to say to me, that sarcasm was the lowest form of wit, and wit was the lowest form of sarcasm. I don't quite know if I ever understood what she meant. I'm sad to hear about your mum, its scares me when I think of life without my old mum around, I don't see her that much. The spirit is a magical thing, not effected by time or space. She is.
Thanks for your encouragement and support, take it easy yourself.
Hey Michael, there's a few people I know watch in my area, I haven't been recognised as yet from the'who tv' thing. But I feel famous now, best of both worlds.
Thanks John, I do plan to have an album out soon, but no definite date. I haven't had anything out before either. Thanks for the heads up. I'll keep you updated.
Good idea Claire, I'm glad you like the photo, say it as many times as you like, it never gets boring. Just glad your enjoying.

Mikey Really loved the show. All of the music was incredable! Really Really good. I couldn't get connected live, but been watching the loop all day. I can't turn it off! You guys are so funny. I am listening to "wanting" right now. Great sound---really great video. I wished I could see you guys next week at The Bedford--I will be there in spirit tho---I hope you play "without your love" ! What a treat that was to hear--really needs to be recorded! Really loved seeing and hearing Simon--what a talented guy he is.... I can't wait til they get more of his music available and he begins to blog--this is really the start of something really cool I think.
Take care and once again
Thanks for sharing yourself with us--you really Shine!

Mikey,
You have that ability to see the things most people miss as we go through our everyday life. It shows in your art. Your art is very good and I hope you keep up the great work. I look forward to attending an Exibit of your work. If you make it to Texas, come have lunch.

Hi Mikey,

That's a lovely photo. It captures all the special qualities within and your love for nature.

I was posting this on Simon's blog and realized I should share it with you. The harmonies with you and Simon on 'Misery' were incredible. It was amazing to be a part of this new experience and feel that energy. You and Rachel have something special there. I can tell you have a beautiful relationship. Those are the really special friends in life that we can count on one hand.

I could relate to that experience shared about the noisy, unappreciative audience. It really irks me when people are so rude and shout above the music, but thankfully there are suitable venues where music lovers flock. A cozy, intimate acoustic café would be perfect. And we would all come! :-)

Best wishes with plans for your upcoming CD. You deserve that and more. We hope to see you in the States some day soon...

Lynne

P.S. You are famous! Who TV is a hit!

What a beautiful picture. I love the purity of black and white pictures, but I think it would be beautiful with just the butterfly tinted, to set it apart.

I took my children (all 5 of them) to see the butterflies, but one of my sons, Gabriel got panicky and started swatting at everything. We tried to calm him, but it didn't work...I don't think we are welcome back there again. Very sad.

Hi Joeboy, thanks for that great compliment mate, if I'm in Texas, that sounds cool mate.
Hi Lynney, I read your comment to Simon, but thanks for posting on my blog, you are very sweet. I hope I can find some of these accoustic venues, and I hope I can come out to the US, really soon. Thanks very much, take care.
