FRANCE FOR THE WEEKEND...

Hey bloggers, thanks for all the great shouts here, they are much appreciated. Although we just came back from Goa, we drove down to France for the Easter weekend, where we camped by a lake. It was a bit chilly during the night, but both me and Rene had a wonderful time. I caught a Sturgeon, which looked almost pre-historic. I was over the moon though, I've never caught one of those before. That's were caviar comes from, but apparently they are know as pretty stupid fish, and can be caught over and over again. I had thought I had caught two Sturgeon of similar size, but on returning home and loading my pictures onto the computer, I realized that it was the same fish, caught some three hours after the first time I caught it. Rene also caught her very first fish, and she was very happy.
At the moment I am working with an old friend of mine Lee, he is a singer\songwriter and has agreed to play a set of my songs with me, I'm hoping the extra voice and guitar will help my live performances. I'm trying to arrange some gig's at the moment, if anyone can think of a good venue for me to play, let me know.
Anyway, thankyou again everyone, and a big thankyou to Sue, that was really sweet darlin, I'm back! So, give me a shout.

OH HI!
I know, I'm pretty pathetic, like I'm always at this computer...really I am just between "gigs" = suburban mom in between her carpools...

Of course I have loads of ideas for venues. All these venues are in the US, of course, and right near where we live....erm, making it so easy for us to come and see you play..check out this website
http://www.turningpointcafe.com/
As an example

There are sooooo many clubs in NYC, of course, too many to list, here.

Also, check out this Myspace..
http://myspace.com/silvermandavid

This is a family friend of ours (actually he is my brotherinlaws, stepdaughter's boyfriend, to be exact...wphew!) and he has been performing in NYC for a while now. We had a lovely chat about music at the last family function....I'm sure he has lots to say on the subject of venues....I'll check further!

OK.....time for the next carpool...

You and Rene, continue to enjoy life, k?

Mikey,
Nice to have you back!

I'm working on an ipod mix for my sisters wedding next week and I've just put 'Plasticine' in the rotation. It's a low key affair with less than 30 people but I'm sure someone will take notice! It's a beautiful song!

Aw yes, the other Sue is the best!

So good to see that you're back!
It's hard to blog consistently. Then you get that nagging "blogger's guilt"- oh man that's the worst. Like I don't have ENOUGH guilt in my life!

You get around Mikey!! Isn't Goa cool? I spent a week there w/my hubby and good friends the first time I visited India.

Venues...hmmm...you should ask James Casey - his band Ether City plays in London alot. I will look up their Myspace URL for ya.
Then there's always my (imaginary) Formosafest! It's good to dream. I think I will start hobnobbing w/millionaires once I move to Taipei.
Why not? Seriously, I could put on a KICK ASS festival, I know it.

Take care and hope to see lots of ITAs in the near future.
Lots of love,
Suexxx

Hi Mikey,

You're getting about a lot lately, Goa and France, life must be good. There are lots of venues in Brighton. What about that guy with the long curly hair who had a venue in Brighton. He went to Basement Jam I think. and was at the gig in Southend. Can't remember his name though. Hope Rene and yourself are OK, you are both looking well.

Hi Mikey,
great news re; gigging with your friend. I'd say this is a good thing, having heard you do Misery with Simon, there is something about 2 part harmony that is so magical.

What about Layla? She plays gigs. Foy? (the Bedford would be a great venue). If you came over to So Cal, you and I could do plenty of gigs around here, although, the only thing I was offered recently was to play for seniors at a retirement home.. I'm not really a live player (at least, this is what I tell myself, but I remember loving it once I was up there)..

Well, hope to see you on the attic soon mate. Take care.

Holy hand grenades, Batman! Did you cut your hair? Did I miss it?
Is that a Sturgeon you caught or did you discover a new brand of fags for those who want more tar?

Nice to see you back in action, and flexing your pecs, no less. Happy Spring to you and Rene and I hope to see youplay live again really soon!!!!!

ROCK ON, my friend!

First time I've stopped by your blog though I've seen you a lot on ITA clips. (what's been wrong with me?)

Anyway, love your music... and you seem like a sweet and funny guy.

Love the sturgeon anecdote! Hilarious!

Have a great week,
