UNCASVILLE, BOSTON AND TORONTO...
Thanks for all the great shouts I've had here on this blog, you guy's have really picked me up when I was down, still shaking off the last dregs of my cold, still coughing, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Just one week now, and soon I'll be home and with my darlin Rene.
So, from NYC and Joe's, to Uncasville, to be truthful, I didn't see much of it, I still felt awful and spent most of my day on the tour bus just recouperating and watching films. I caught a little of the Who gig, and it was brilliant, but it was hard to appreciate as I still felt bad. The day dragged on, then on the bus to Boston. At Boston, the bus was parked around the other side of the building and it took ages to get in the place, I took a little walk, and found the place to be really pretty, I got some good pictures and started to feel a little better, but once again, I done very little apart from try to make myself feel better, taking care of myself and relaxing. There is nothing worse than feeling ill on a bus, but one day at a time, and onwards and upwards.
From Boston, back on the road and across the boarder to Canada, to Toronto. It was absolutely freezing, we had a day off at a hotel, so I had the chance to talk to Rene for a while, which made me feel great. I spent the whole day watching television and sleeping, then left the next day to the gig feeling stronger. I didn't watch any of the Who show, but spent the whole time on the bus, but it was great to see Rachel, who came on to see me, and brought me a lovely gift, which I didn't expect but am massively grateful, Rachel told me the story of her and Pete's nightmarish plane story. Then back across the boarder to the US, having a boarder patrol inspection at 5am, which was nice, but all is well, and I'm feeling alot better, as I said before, I'm still coughing.
I'm really looking forward to Chigago, and have 4 songs this time, so if any of you have any request's, please do let me know. Until then, I'll be watching some Who show's and practicing, trying to be completely well. Also, it will be Rene's birthday on the 7th and I won't be with her, my family are taking her out, but this will be hard, please leave her some great birthday wishes, because she keeps me strong, I would really appreciate this bloggers.
So I hope everyone is doing well, and being good, once again thankyou for all the great shouts here, it works you know, now keep up the good work and give me a shout (GMaS)...

Glad you're starting to feel a bit better Mikey. I'm a bid depressed today mate. I googled the name of a drummer who I used to be in a band with years ago, only to find out he passed away four years ago from a horrible disease. I had lost contact with him, but always felt he and I would bump into each other.
He was an amazing drummer Mikey. He would have given Ginger Baker a run for his money. I'll miss him.
Hope the end of the tour is fun for you.
Keep 'er lit Mikey (as they would say in Ireland) Not long now. It's sounds tough for you, and I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate me saying, you're touring with The Who for fukssakes. Fuck I said it. Sorry. Try the Pizza in Chicago - I'm told it's fabulous, it'll put hairs on yer chest! And keep a good eye on that Kreutzmann.

Keep up the good fight, Mikey!!
Just left your dear girl a birthday message. You two are so sweet together.
Please keep resting when you can. The bugs around here are really hanging on. We have been getting so sick in my household, ugh!
If you can, pick up a product called "Airborne" in any local grocery shop. It will help. I promise.
Much Love and a GREAT BIG SHOUT!
-Natalie
You do sound better Mikey!
I'm glad. You have no idea how weird/cool it is to see your post start w/Uncasville - the tiny town where I graduated from (high school- didn't live in that town though) AND Boston in the same line...which is where I was born!
How bizarre!
I have a nostalgic pang now...I left New England in 1995...
Anyway - will send Rene birthday wishes - that's lovely that your family is taking her out.
Neither my hubbie or I could care less about birthdays, isn't that weird? I think it's because we're officially OLD now. Well in numbers only.
Keep strong Mikey - just think what a WONDERFUL Christmas you will have w/your Rene and family.
:)
It will be so special...
Take care and BE WELL!
Love,
Suexxxxx
SHOUTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!
Ahem. hah. ahahah.haha.hah.
anyways.
You said you took pictures? Good Mikey. I'm a total photography geek. Keep taking them.. and post some here!
The East coast is positively freezing now. What happened to all that global warming stuff? Pfft.
Take care of yourself! Tea with honey, vitamin C, lots of American cough syrup..

(p.s. did you ever manage to find what you were looking for in nyc? I'm sorry I was never able to help, I forgot to talk to you about it before I rushed out :[ )
Hey Mikey..
Did you get a chance to take a peek at Niagara Falls? What bridge did you end up going to for the Border Patrol inspection? Usually they're pretty ok.
Oh it was freezing alright. We got 4 " of lake effect snow on Tuesday night. Gotta love the Buffalo TV stations huh?
:)
Always, always...wishing you a safe journey, and a certain improvement in health. You are the "real deal", Mikey.
Great to have you around when you travel, really is. Actually, I would have never spoken to Pete's guitar guru, Alan Rogan,if you had not plopped your guitar down for a moment in the lobby of the Hollywood club at the ATTIC JAM. It made me stop, look at him, and proceed to quickly bug him for a minute. Great guy, he is. I was so very tired, I was not going to last much longer, but you slowed my exit by being in front of me...thanks for that!
Next time, if I happen to see you somewhere, don't feel too bad about slowing me down. Slowing down makes one like me look around a bit more. There is a lot to see sometimes.
Enjoy the USA, Mikey. I love my country. You are most welcome here.
Peace,
--Dan L.

Mikey,
Good luck and good health for the HOB show!!
I'm with Sue. Leon and I are not big on the birthday celebrations. But, for the kids, we make a big deal; we've no choice, they remind us everyday for a month before the blessed event..he he!
I will be happy to wish your Rene a loverly day. It's wonderful that your family will be taking her out for her birthday.
I surely hope we will meet again, this time with your Rene!
Onward and upward...xo

Hey Mikey,
Talked with you a bit at the show last nite in Grand Rapids.
Thanks for the chat. You were very kind.

Hi Mikey, I'm sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. And I know how hard it is to be apart from someone you love. (my husband sometimes has to take business trips that can last for several weeks) But I think it makes you appriciate them all the more.
Anyway, try to keep warm, take care of that cough, and have a great gig.
Before you know it you will be back home for the holiday's with Rene :)
Take Care,
Kara
((((hugs))) you are near the finish line! Glad you are feeling a bit better.
I would like to hear Tourist in Chicago.
Off to leave Rene a birthday wish!
Hi Mickey,
If you think the weather is bad in America at the moment just wait to you get back to Essex next week.
So far this week we have had 70 mile A hour winds ,rain and a little snow.
And a Tornado hit Kensal Rise in North London.
Happy Birthday to your Rene, it is our daughter's Kayleigh 8th birthday today. She is still waiting for a I.T.A. badge you told her about at Beaulieu back in July!
Happy Xmas.
M+G
Happy Birthday to Rene - sorry you can't be there with her, but sometimes it is more fun to celebrate on a different day. Just think of how wonderful your homecoming will be.
Wish I could have seen you in Atlanta - I was hoping to make the trek (4 hours from northeast Tennessee), but unfortunately it was a bad time workwise.
Hey Mikey! Glad you're cold is nearing its end...just in time for your performance on Saturday. 4 songs--awesome!!! If you could play "My Brother Shaun," that would be great. Can't wait to see you again--hope you can meet up with us beforehand (Brownstone Tavern & Grill, 3PM, 3937 N. Lincoln).
Just left Rene b-day wishes!
Rest up,
L&R
Hey Mikey!
I see you're well again and not so sad!
The concert was GREAT!!! I was so happy! In my next post I'll write about Silbermond! Maybe you look then at my blog too.
Love, Charly
Hi again, Mikey!!
So, only a few days now until you can go home and see the beautiful RENE. I am sure she is just as exctied as you are. Just wanted to say that I popped onto Eelpie a few days back and ordered two copies of your EP, Can't wait 'til they arrive and jump into my iPod!
Bought one for a friend who accompanied me to Joe's and took that great photo of you and I which I am grateful for.
You asked for requests for your next Gig, I won't be there but play My Brother Sean for me really loud so I can hear it in NY, OK?
Really looking forward to seeing you again in '07. Keep working hard and taking one day at a time.
Nice that Rachel bought you a gift, she is a thoughtful girl (and loves to shop)
PLEASE, if you see Simon tell him that Lin from NY says hello!!! I miss him on his blog as well. He is really doing a fantastic job on this tour and working his toukus off!!!
Shake that cold off before you go home, THERFLU is good, one cup and it is gone!!! (IF you can swallowit, pretend it is English Breakfast Tea!)
use all this down time to write songs for your next #1 album in '07!
Thanks for the great memory of Joe's Pub!
-Lin B. in NY
Mikey, you are an inspiration. I ordered your EP straightaway after Joe's Pub. Unfortunately it won't be here in time to take it to Chicago for you to sign. Four songs this time, that's great! Any chance you could do Invisible? It's been a long time since we've heard that one. Hope you're feeling better with each day.
See you tomorrow,
Cynthia
Mikey!
Hang in there, and...
Merry, Merry Christmas!
