FLOOD GATES...

Hey bloggers, the weather has been lovely here for the last couple of weeks, and last friday, I performed at a small music club in Southend-on-sea. I only played two songs to around forty people, but they went well, and I think I gave a good showing of myself. I'm still working with my friend Lee on some stuff, but his father was taken ill last week, which has meant Lee has other things to do, but when we do get together, it sounds really good.
My mother hasn't been very well just lately either, she has an abcess, and the week before last, unfortunately her cat had to be put down. She rescued that cat just after it was born and left in her garden, before she had moved onto the boat. She is very upset, so me and the family are doing our best to keep her spirits up, I shall be going to see her tomorrow. Last weekend Rene and I went up to her boat for the weekend, I did a bit of fishing and caught a nice Bream, which was nice.
As for this weekend, me and Rene are driving down to Normandy in France, where we will be staying at a lovely campsite next to a lake, it's not the same as the last place, and it's a bit further to drive, but Rene assures me that she'll be fine.
I've also made some progress with my new song Greenhouse, which didn't have any solid words until today, but today the flood gates opened, much to my relief, as it's been many months without a word, so happy days. Also, I spoke to Rachel yesterday about the European upcoming In the Attic's, which are set to kick off in about a month, I can't wait, and it was really nice to chat with her.
Anyway, so that's what I've been up to, hope all of you lot are good, thankyou very much for all the lovely shout's here, take care all and GMaS...

Hi Mikey,
hope your mother feel better. Here in Germany the weather is very good too, only sun and no rain, but we need some rain, because all the flowers going down in my garden. I think it's the global warming. Can't wait to see ITA. Do you know, if you come to Germany??? I hope. Are you and Rene go only the weekend to the Normandy? I need some holidays, but I have no free time. My last holiday was 18 month ago. At the end of this month the excange from Charls is comming from England 8 days. She is from Orpington (near London). Charly visiting in July Orpington. She is so happy, but first we will see THE WHO, SILBERMOND and later GENESIS.
Now here my shout for you and I wish Rene and you great days in France.
Love and peace
Stefan

Hi, Mikey

We can't wait for the upcoming In the Attic's either. Rachel's been streaming her studio time but unfortunately I've been working so couldn't watch. Hopefully she'll do it again on Friday when I work from home.

Glad your new song is coming along and that you are performing again.

Have a great weekend and hope your mother is doing better.

Hey Mikey
Glad to hear you're doing well. Sounds like you've been having a relaxing time lately, and I am jealous!
Very sad though to hear about your mom. Losing a pet can be one of the worst things in the world, trust me, I know! I hope she feels better soon.

Wish I could see another ITA show this summer, but most likely will not have the money to go traveling again for a few months. Hope you have a great time!

There you are! LOVELY picture, truly expressive, and I am sorry for you for the long wait but absolutely overjoyed the gates have banged open or even burst.

Really glad too you're getting some live playing in. Absolutely. And I hope your friend's dad recovers well soon.

So sorry about your mum losing her good pal. My dog Bea Bea had only a minor thing along the gumline and I about lost my mind. Screw the day it happens! My heart goes out to her though, to your mum, really. I am sorry.

Good news about the attic. For now it's getting away to Normandy and camping and wow. It's that time of year. This time last year I believe you were in Spain or was it Italy?

Hi Mikey,

Great to hear that you will be back in your proper place in the caravan! Looking forward to some Attic antics in the coming weeks.

Enjoy your Francais escape this weekend, and capture as much "water" as you can while the floodgates are open wide!

Cheers from LA,
Chris

I'm glad for you and Rene, going on all those glamourous camping trips...ha ha! I know, fishing and camping is NOT really a glamourous gig, but when you are doing it in FRANCE, it's TRE CHIC!!

I'm sorry for your Mom. We, who love our pets, know her pain. My little daushound, Lucy, is approaching her 17th birthday, and she had a wicked fall down our back porch (about 10 steps), today. I watched her tumble onto the stone pavers of the patio. It was such a helpless feeling. She seemed ok, she shook it off, sneezed a bit, and waddled around. I cleaned off her tiny, slightly bloody paws, and fed her some children's pain medicine.......now, I am feeling her morality, and it's sad!!

Onto the good news, now, shall we?
Yes! So good to hear you will be in that crazy caravan.....any chance you could end up in Woodstock in August????

Have a great weekend....hope the sun is shining for you!!

OK..your blog doesn't recognize my password, so that is why I am anon in my last two comments....but, it's me, Sue xo

Attention all Mikey fans!

Long Live Rock is now selling high-quality DVD downloads of Season 1 - Episode 1 of the "In the Attic" and will be selling all 10 episodes of the first season using the bit torrent technology.

It really is amazing to see how "In the Attic" evolved from this first episode to become the big time globe-trotting caravan that it is today. Episode 1 was orignally webcast on 21st September 2005 and marks the first time that any of us (outside of Southend) got a chance to see Mikey and hear his incredible music. He hadn't even started blogging yet!

As fun as the orginal webcasts were, it's an even more involving experience to watch "In The Attic" with the superb video and audio quality of DVD - it really is like inviting Mikey, Rachel, Pete, Simon, et al. into your living room for a chat and a sing!

For those of you that are new to the bit torrent technology, Long Live Rock has some easy to follow instructions to get you started. Just go to longliverock.org, sign up, and click on the "getting started" link. A good way to start is to download the free 5 minute podcast preview of episode 1.

In addition to some fun and entertaining banter, here is what you will get if you purchase episode 1 for $10 USD:

01 - Opening Credits
02 - Introduction (Rachel Fuller and Mikey Cuthbert)
03 - You (Mikey Cuthbert and Rachel Fuller)
04 - Happy To Be Sad (Rachel Fuller)
05 - Addicted To Your Love (Mikey Cuthbert and Rachel Fuller)
06 - Eat Me (Rachel Fuller)
07 - Pete joins the Attic
08 - You (Mikey Cuthbert, Rachel Fuller and Pete Townshend)
09 - Plasticine (Mikey Cuthbert)
10 - Heart To Hang Onto (Pete Townshend)
11 - Winter (Rachel Fuller)
12 - End Credits

Duration: 02:42:47

P.S. Mikey, It's great to hear that the flood gates are opening for you once again - Greenhouse sounds like an excellent title for a song, I'm sure it will be a great one like all of yours are. Say, I think you had a very good lyric idea in your last blog entry - catching the same fish over and over again. I hope you don't mind this shameless advertisement on your blog, but it's very exciting to be able to help support "In the Attic" and get your incredible music on to people's TVs and stereos where they can really hear you and see you.

Keep writing those beautiful songs mate,

Tom Pratt
