On location at brother Shauns...

Here's a painting that I done at the age of 2o, after returning from Indoneasia. Where I had been travelling and teaching English. The fabric I used to work with, is green velvet, my parents old curtains actually, its half paint, and half chalk. Its a picture of a Indoneasian forest spirit, or my idea of one. My brother bought it off me when I needed money to pay the bills, he has quite a collection.

I watched the grand prix today, the last one this season. I will miss it, and look forward to next years V8's.
Today, me and Rene went round to brother Shaun's house, and I recorded a movie of me singing a song I wrote in the New forest, called 'white stripes'. I thought it would be a great idea, just to have me playing and singing in the places that I love to hear the music, along with natures soundtrack playing along with me.
So the first film was shot in my brothers garden, in front of his lovely pond, you can see and hear the reeds swaying in the breeze, the sun was shining, and I hope you like the idea. Let me know?
I'm going up to the studio tomorrow to reherse for the 'Bedford Arms' gig, then the show, the next day, and then 'In the Attic' on wednesday. My lifes never been this interesting before, thanks all, give me a shout.

Wow, that is some picture you have. If you are selling any art, you let me know! There is a hill right next to my house that I like to climb up and listen to music at the top. There is a beautiful view of the santa monica mountains and eventually I would like to mave a music video there or something. Speaking of ponds, my mom and I are digging one in the back yard. Well we started it in July but it got too hot so we haven't worked on it since. It is more like a puddle. And to answer your question, that is a good idea. It is nice to see your life is good. I see you like to use "Give me a shout" now. :)
Keep on truckin'!

Dear Mikey,

This green art is amazing!

Looking forward to your next movie, it sounds like a group effort and Rene sounds proud of it already.

Filming in the places where you wrote the song? That's brilliant.

In case I don't get to blog again before you go, have a wonderful show at the Bedford Arms.

I thought Rachel was skipping "In the Attic" this week. Is there a new webcast this week? Really?!

Meanwhile, thanks for all you are showing us. I'm knackered and to bed soon (did I use that British-y word right? dead tired?)...Hugs, Brina

It is so typical that in the UK, one has an event at a place with the lovely name of The Bedford Arms....and here in the states (in my neck of the woods, anyway) you go see shows at a place called "The TWEETER Center".......How embarrassing is THAT??? It sounds like some sort of cartoon character's house.
Anyway, Mikey Darlin'~ your artwork made me say "Wow".....OUT LOUD! (if you knew me, that's a GOOD thing!)
I wish you all the best for the show~ think of all of us poor "Yank" bloggers who can't attend, and dream of the day you can come play for us @ the "TWEETER"
AGH!!!

Much love~

Mikey,
you should hold onto that one, it's truly amazing. I love the arm coming out of the mouth.. It would make quite a remarkable album cover (for the right band).

My interpretation is that it could resemble my lovely wife Stephani one of her bad days.. the arm is what's left of me..

Spookey...

Hi Nature Boy-
This is scary - but very cool. When I first looked at it, it looked like his tongue was moving! I kid you not. I'm perfectly sober too! oooooooooooh.
Painting on curtains- that's very Sound of Music of you! So did you make a pair of trousers with what was left?? hee hee hee(I'm very sarcastic today!).
I'd love to visit Indonesia one day...when things calm down a little (if that will ever happen).
Looking forward to your video of White Stripes - sounds beautiful.
Have a great gig!

I wish I could be as artistic. I can't draw to save my life. I could commission you to design a tattoo for me with Jills name in it. It would have to have a romantic feel to it though. looking forward to seeing you tomorrow evening, as we are on the guest list. So excited.

Another great art work Mikey!

Green velvet, paint and chalk? Your use of different materials to get just the right look and feel is amazing. I love the fact that the Indonesian forest spirit looks so much like the Green Man.

I'm sure that the Bedford Arms gig tomorrow will be fantastic. I can't wait to see the video of it.

Play hard and give 'em a great show!

Wow, wonderful piece! Maybe you should think of putting other pieces up for sale to your...how did you put it...army of loyal and talented helpers. I'm sure a bunch of people would love to own such amazing artwork. Those of us that aren't pennyless students, anyway.

Also, great video idea. Can't wait to see it!

Hey, I'll tell ya how I got mp3s on my site. I got virtually my whole catalogue uploaded to my web site. Then I just paste the URL in the links column of my blog. I just started doing it, I put up a new one every Sunday. Check it out if you got time, I'd love to hear what you think. The song this week is 'She Follows Vibrations'
