Healed.

Thankyou everyone, for your kind words. I have been healed. I really enjoyed 'In the Attic' last night, I ended up staying at Pete's, cause it was quite late when we finished. I stayed up and watched the recording of the show, and really enjoyed it, but it did mean that I didn't get to sleep til very late again.
Made my way back this morning, and have been working on my new song all day, and some of the evening. Its going really well now, Rene came home, and when I played her the some, she said that it sounded like a had the spark back, and its just how I felt, the buzz of creation, well when its going well anyway. So hopefully I'll be playing it real soon, just got to record it next week at home before Wednesday.
My friend Lee didn't come round today, or I missed him in the morning. I hope he calls back soon, I haven't got his number, he's one of the few people I know, that hasn't got a mobile phone because he doesn't like them. Talking about phones, I can't believe Rene had her phone stolen, what a nightmare. At least she was safe and sound. Anyway, thanks again you beautiful bloggers, I'm listening to you, and I'm liking it. GMAS

Hi Mikey, Great to hear about your inspiration, and I know you feel our good vibes and good listening ears and hearts.

I'm sad because Rachel wasn't able to get the Attic up on loop yet. I know how to be patient, but...I missed you completely! What's a week without a new In the Attic? something missing, for sure...

Love,
Brina

That's the spirit. Out creative vibe my almost be in sync. When I read Rene's post the other night I felt really creative, I may have been channeling creativity from you. Anyhow, it's a song with different chords than I normally play and is sounding really interesting, allbeit quite a commercial sounding love song, but nevertheless, the feedback I'm getting is to let it flow, as I'm sure you would.

Looking forward to hearing your new song.

Glad to hear your back in the groove. Can't wait to hear your new song.

Yea man real bummer about Rene's phone. But your right, at least she is safe and sound.

I don't like cell phones either. When I'm gone I'm gone. I say leave a message I will call when I get home.

Because of you I am writing everyday. You have helped inspire me my friend.

Peace, love and light to you and yours.

I caught only a tiny part of the show, right when you were singing My Way. It sounds great, Mikey. It really started rocking out at the end there. Great build up. Simon was awesome in the background and Stuart was as fluent as anybody can be on the guitar.

I posted some funny tidbit stories about my girl from Thursday and Friday nights in our house over here. Though I would mention them to lift your spirits from your crap review! I have yet to hear from Rene. Wonder if she knows who I am. Just another crazed Mikey fan! LOL. Hope her phone either turns up or she can get a new one.

Take it easy and have a great weekend! I know I will!!

Mikey~ Is there such a thing as a "Blog Hug"?
I'm sending one along to you anyway....**HUG**
Nothing dodgy, Rene...just a lovely hug for a lovely man!

Emma's had her 'pencil case' stolen by someone at school. This in no way compares with Rene's phone, but it's a lousy feeling to have anything taken away...It's the first time it's happened to her though....certain loss of innocence in a way~ learning to deal with "the world".
Anyway~Your music makes it better.

Have a lovely weekend, Mikey~

Dear Mikey

It was good to see you the other day (noon my time). I was able to watch a bit of the show live from work at lunch!

I missed all the action, but clued in while reading the comments on Rachel's blog.
Pete caused quite the sensation - just like he has for as long as I can remember!

Your music is beautiful.

Glad to hear it was only the phone and no harm was done. A friend out here had his cell phone stolen. Just for laughs we called it and they guy who took it was happily chatting away talking about the new phone he lifted. Until he realized the error in his ways. Not the smartest California Criminal.
Keep your chin up Mikey.

Mikey,

Thank you so much for your words of support on my blog. My friend Rick was a superb piano and guitar player who could play virtually anything, and what he loved most of all was good, unique original music. He would’ve loved watching “In the Attic” and I know he would’ve liked your songs especially. One of the things I’ve learned from “In the Attic” is how the best musicians know how to really listen to music. I see this when one of you plays a song and the others listen so attentively. My friend Rick was exactly the same way, and it gave me so much confidence as a songwriter when he complemented me because I know that he really listened and understood my songs. It gives me a hint of what it must feel like for you to play a song and be complemented by an artist like Pete Townshend!

Even though I was home sick on Thursday, I didn’t mind because I got to watch the show live and jam right along with all of you on my guitar. Thank you for taking my suggestion and turning the guitar neck in the other direction so that we could watch your left hand easier.

I thought that you really gave the show a spark with your great version of “My Way”. The key was that you really went all out when you played it. That’s another thing that I learned from my friend Rick – the only way to play music is to go completely all out on every song. I know that you understand this, because your effort always seems to come across when you play. This is something that will always bring you fans. I noticed that after “My Way”, Pete and Rachel came into the room and really seemed fired up by your performance, and that created a great atmosphere for “My Pigeon Friend”, which had everybody singing along with you. Out here in Seattle, I had a very nice little high, melodic, electric guitar part going at the end of the song - what fun!

Can’t wait to hear the new song that you’re working on,

Cheers,

Tom

Mikey,

Our friend Rick would have definitely loved your music, and In the Attic. I wish I could have played him your music before he passed away. I also think it's really cool how you are all such great listeners of each others music. During the show it's so great to see you all close your eyes and completely take in the music that is being performed. You are all true music lovers! I love all the songs you have been playing for us. Can't wait to hear more next week!

Carrie, you said that right. It's wonderful to watch musicians listen to other musicians. Really that's one reason I love "In the Attic" so very much. It's like a living room gathering, only we're invited.

We reveal parts of our soul when we play and sing music. I remember the first time I played piano for a musician friend of mine. I'd known him a while but we hadn't made music together ever. I played for a while, and he sat really quietly and said afterwards, "I feel like I know you so much better now."

I never forgot that moment.

Hugs,
Brina

That's so frustrating when that happens, isn't it! What I do for all of my long postings is write it in an email message, then cut and paste it into the blog. That way, I can spell check it, and I have a backup copy in case it doesn't upload for some reason. Just a bit of friendly technical advice!

I deleted that last post because
I left out a few things that I
wanted to say.

You shouldn't have to reply to
everyone individually,Mikey,
that's too much.Just a short
sentence like that would do.
Keep on keepin' on,don't
forget,you've got us and we
appreciate and love your
music.Really.We wouldn't
come back if we didn't.

Here's an original song that
I wrote for you about them
swiney bastard so-called
critics:

Anyone can have an opinion
Anyone can join in and jump
Anyone can pay or just stay away
Anyone can crash and thump

But did you read the stuff that Julie said?
Or little Jimmy with his hair dyed red?
They don't give a shit about what
Mikey says
Is that exactly what I thought I read?

Did you read the stuff that Julie said?
Or little Jimmy with his hair dyed red?
They have a standard of perfection there
That you and me can never share

Typewriter bangers on
You're all just hangers on
Everyone's human 'cept Jools and Jim
Late copy churners
Rock and Roll learners
Your heart's are melting in pools
Of gin

But I know for sure that if we met up eye to eye
A little wine would bring us closer, you and I
'Cos your right, hypocrisy will be the death of me
And theirs an I before e when your spelling ecstasy
And you, you two......

Did you hear the stuff that Krishna said?
Or know for you that Jesus' blood was shed?
Is it in your heart or in your head?
Or does the truth lie in the center spread?

Ok, so I didn't write that and
I inserted some of my own
words,hahaha!! I hope Pete don't
mind. Hope that cheered
you up a bit :O)

hi Mikey,

Can't wait to hear the new song! It was another great "Attic" last week, although I had to leave towards the end to go to work, so I'm looking forward to the loop. "My Way" was performed with a lot of passion (directed at that reviewer perhaps?), and "My Pidgeon Friend"! It was fun to see everybody joining in. Since Thursday, I hear it in my head everytime I see a pidgeon on the street ! (There's a lot of them here..!)
What a drag about Rene's phone-feels like a bit of a violation--all the most important numbers in your life in there. But she is okay, and that's what matters.

Keep that spark alive!

Hi Mikey!

I read that you were having throat problems, do you know about honey-loquat
syrup? A producer friend recommended it to me, after I'd strained my voice. He said that Pavarotti( sp?)and Streisand swear by it, etc. I don't know about that, but
I did buy some " Han's honey-loquat syrup" from a health food store online, it worked! I am now a believer!
I'd recommend it to anyone that sings.
It's like a miracle quick-fix for vocalists. An ancient Chinese secret, lol.

Cheers Andy, I think I would go mad if that ever happened to me mate.
Thanks Carrie, I think I will just acknowledge that these things happen from time to time, and stumble through, its only the second time its happened in my first month of bloggin, thanks for your suggestion though. I will be over to listen to Rick very soon by the way, thankyou for putting it up.
Hi Mike, so did you write that song, or did Pete, anyway thankyou for that lovely sentiment. Cheers mate.
Hi Heather, thanks for the blog, I hope I'll be playing that new song really soon, I think I'll record it tomorrow, as long as nothing comes up.
Thanks Lisa, I'll write it down, but my throat is healed, I heal really quick, and already eat a lot of honey for it, I love honey, did you know that they use honey to treat the flesh eating virus, that can withstand anti-biotic's. Thankyou for coming to my aid though, and cheers for posting.

Thanks, Mikey. Yep, it's the kind of thing one should have on hand, vocalist trade secret, supposedly. It does work,
I know for sure.

I did not in fact know about honey being so healing to skin, that's interesting and makes me wonder what other skin ailments it might cure.Or
really, what ailments in general might it help?

Anyway, you cheered me up today, I've been battling the blues and reading your cheerful reply to us (and your neat post about being up in the tree)
helped me.Thanks! : )
