Tonights show.
Looking forward to tonights show, its a shame Roger won't be there this week, but I'm sure we'll have a laugh as always. Its going to air a little later tonight, 7-9pm London time, I hope everyone gets a good feed and is able to watch, if not, you can catch the loop.
About that review, I was really happy for Rachel, so I can't blame his ear, because he obviously loves good music, I'm afraid he just didn't think I was up to the grade. That did upset me a little, but I've had a lot worse happen to me, and I will continue as always along this long road.
So this is going to be short and sweet, thanks to everyone that rallied to my aid, Rene is a star isn't she, but don't worry, I'm ok with it, the rough with the smooth.

P.S. I've let Simon know that I am anxiously awaiting your CD, and that I will give tons of them out as gifts...we love you!!
Don't worry darling, you are a self taught musician and a great one at that. I always wondered about critics as to who teaches them. I don't believe there is a course or degree program in criticism, and also who says, "I want to be a critic when I grow up". I'm sure most of us would agree that your profession is a bit more honorable.
Keep on doing what you love, because we love it as well.

That is far more than many aspiring artists!

To me, that is the most you can do, as well as keeping at it like you are.

I was there and Rachel described you as "just starting out" (compared to Pete) perhaps this is what the line in the article was meant to mean?
Anyway, you did a great job of the tough opening slot. I think that "just starting out" WILL turn into, "seasoned pro". Just you watch!

I have been a fan of yours since the first "Attic", and have been reading your great blog, but my first post (for some reason I had it in my head that "Others or Anon" couldn't post on it-- duh)
Anyway, I (and many others) know that you are a gifted talent as a musician but in so many other areas...Gary said it, you ARE a Renaissance Man...painter, writer, humorist...! You have a great energy about you. We luv ya!!!

Don't let this review get you down, you are a singer/song writer and I really enjoyed your song today on the Attic, Why I Explain. Great guitar choice, the sound was beautiful, worth getting in trouble for! Can you do me a favor? Take a look at my blog, I wrote a song (lyrics only)called Enough and I have been encouraged by people who have read it that I should make Pete/Roger aware of it. That makes me very nervous. Can you read it and if you think it merits it pass it along. This is a huge step for me so I appreicate your help. Do not feel obligated to make a comment I don't want to put you on the spot. Never doubt yourself Mikey, you ARE a singer/songwriter with excellent material. I would agree, you should be selective about what kinds of venues you choose, you'll want "listening" audiences. I think the Bedford was such a gig, just the guy who wrote the review wasn't as careful as he should have been about his review.

Mikey~ Emma had just got home from school when she heard about that stinking review......I'm afraid I had to punish her for the language she used....you are SUCH an inspiration to her and her guitar playing......BTW~ I so strongly agreed with her that the punishment only lasted about 8 minutes.....HA!

The biggest problem with reviews of someone's art (be it singing, writing, painting, etc.) is that it feels extremely personal, because it is such a big part of who we are. This was just one man's opinion, and clearly he is an idiot. Obviously we just have better taste in music.

Maybe it's because you are just a quieter personality. I dunno, I love your songs. My fiance and I listened to "White Stripes" every time it came on the loop of that episode. We love that one and think you are fantastic.
