COME ON RYAN.

Here's a photo of my oldest newphew Ryan and me, taken last christmas. Ryan lives in Blackpool, so I only get to see him every now and then, I was 13 when he was born, barely a teenager.
We have always been very close, and I miss him. Over a year ago, Ryan found out he had become a father, he asked me for some advice, but not being a father myself, I had little to offer. So I done what I know, and wrote him a song. In a way its like a football chant, I wanted to show him that he was not alone, and I would do all I could to help him and his new son Ethan.

I've decided to play this song tonight on ' In the Attic'. As well as another song I wrote for my brother Shaun, when he was contemplating dilema's of his own.
The show starts at midnight London time, and we'll be wearing pj's. Hope you can all make it tonight, hope you all get a great feed, please give me a shout.

Mikey it looks like you are very close to your nephew, he must look up to you. Thanks for your concern for my family. I had no idea what to do that night. Believe it or not I was on the internet looking for a last will and testimate(it was that bad). The only thing I could figure to do is post a comment where a lot of good, friendly people would read, hoping that if anything really bad happened and I didnt post for a long time someone would take action and hopefully send help in case we were trapped. I think all the good people with you and Rachel would have done something thats why I love your sites. I can honestly say you, Rachel and the other Bloggers are my friends or distant family. Bad thoughts go thru your mind when mother nature unleashes her furey. I will post pictures soon. Im really choked up the way people have displayed their concern for me and my family. Thanks again, I dont know what else I can say to express my gratitude. michael :)

I think our family can be the most inspiring force when creating music or art. Whether the emotions we get from them are positive or negative.

Being an uncle is fantastic. I'm proud to be uncle Gary for Cody (10), Amanda (13), Jack (1), Talia (3), Madison (8) and John (1). I get away with acting 10 years old sometimes.. One of my earliest memories as an uncle was going to Cody's 4th or 5th birthday and jumping into this big pool of plastic balls, and almost getting stuck in the tube.. They all thought I was wierd, but I had a good time and I'm the favorite uncle cause when they come over, I give an instrument to each of them and we play songs. It's cool being an uncle. My very best wishes to young Ryan. When he's my age, his kids will still be able to relate to him,

Ryan is a lucky chap to have such a close bond with you, he must feel very blessed. it must have been amazing for him to have you write him a song...I have 3 sons and they don't actually have any uncles at all... they do have the most wonderful caring aunty though, (my sister) who has always been there for them

Hi Mikey,
Nothing like being a Dad. I have a 16 year old son myself.
How is the new nephew doing?
I will be watching in the attic tonight.
How about giving me your opinion on a song I just wrote? It is called Spinnin'! and is on my blog.
I used to write a lot but got sidetracked with life for a few years but I am back at it again now. I would appreciate anything you might have to say. Thanks.
Peace.

Mikey, re your previous post. Did Gary Granger write 'Hot Legs' the Rod Stewart number? I think he did. Last time I saw him play was in The Jones Gang. Kenny Jones band. Ryan looks a good kid. Might stay up to watch the show. What's more important In The Attic or work? ITA

Hi Mikey! Your nephew Ryan looks like a good kid, and he's lucky to have you. Awesome that he has a son named Ethan, as you know that is a special name to me. What's the middle name? Our baby was Ethan George, which means "strong farmer"!

PJ's at the ready. See you soon!

Hugs, Brina

P.S. Can't wait to hear the songs tonight.

Oh, that must be tough for him. I hope he gets through alright, I can't imagine what he is feeling. I wish him luck, and to the mother as well. I don't quite know what a football chant is, so it will be a suprise for me. This time I can watch it live, thanks for showing it later. I will be wearing PJs. Keep on truckin'!

P.S. Do you have an idea when your first CD will be released? I am dieing to find out. Feel my Heat is my favorite song, when I get a digital camera I will post a pic of me dancing to it.

Hi Mikey,
This is the first time I've posted on your blog. I love your songs that you wrote about your family members. I wasn't able to have children, but was blessed when I married a man with a daughter a couple of years ago. Last Saturday, we became grandparents.WOW! Life is definitely like a box of chocolates, right?

Loved the show again tonight ... don't know how you guys are still going strong (must be 2ish for you now). You look great in your Pjs. I'm in my comfy ones right there with you (posted on my blog).

Great songs to Shaun and Ryan especially. I was 11 when my niece was born and we're very close, although we live too far apart. I can't believe "my" baby is 18 and off to college, but it is a wonderful feeling that she comes to me for advice and just plain old girl talk. Ryan is very lucky to have an uncle such as you to be there for him to turn to ... even if you can't give him the advice you would like, at least you are there for him.

Great show tonight, Mikey! Loved 'Come on Ryan'; and 'White Stripes' was awesome as always. I thought The Vibrants were fantastic. Rachel is as adorable and as funny as ever, especially with the Fashion Tips video. Pete is brilliant as always with his stories.

Selamat malam, Mikey.

Hi Mikey, Thanks for the PJ webcast party last night. The music was great and you all were so much fun.

I had a chance to watch the whole broadcast live again, haven't missed a week yet!, but this time I had my son with me, so he got to see and hear you too. He laughed a lot.

"Bernard" is the same age as my A.J. I love how sweet they are, right on the verge of being full-grown. Their talent is just coming out and they are usually kind of shy. But I saw a video of my son and his band from their first gig, and there he is singing lead and he's got this Iggy Pop/Jim Morrison thing going on. Wow!

Anyway, you all were very generous. Thanks for sharing, can't wait for the next one.

I just wrote a blog that started out about Halloween and morphed into a woman power blog. Thinking about Janis Joplin, and the power of her musical voice. How her voice is still in my head, but she's been dead for decades. Amazing power.

Hugs to you and Rene.

Mikey,

seriously! both songs last night were top draw. The words, delivery, everything.

What I like even more is that you have a great story and meaning behind each song. "Come On Ryan" is very uplifting.

Anyway. Yeah, i'm getting comments now! all it takes is one night of larking around in a dressing gown. No, seriously, I've had some great comments and hopefully we've made a few new fans. We sold a few CDs across the pond!

Take Care

Sam
