Another Blog!

I've seen Rachel's new blog about quitting smoking, and in a coment on my blog, she asked if I wanted to join her.

Sorry Rachel, not this time, you must walk this path alone. Although I will regularly check up on your condition through your new blog.

This leads me on to the point of my blog here, I am going to start another blog. Just recently, I mentioned in passing that I had spent some time in Indonesia, and to my surprise, Karel blogged me on the matter. Karel is from Indonesia but now living in the US. Since this happened, I have been thinking of publishing my diary/journal of that time. Its very funny in places, and I think its well worth a look.

I started out on my journey to Indonesia, on the 24/10/1991. The coincedence that this is only two days away, cannot be ignored. So, some fourteen years later to the day, the journey will be re-lived day by day on my new blog. I've always wanted to publish my journal of that time, so I'll do it here, well, actually on the other blog, which I'll put a link to.

I was only 19 when I went travelling, and it was on my return that I started playing a guitar seriously. The things that happened to me then, changed my outlook on life.

I hope this doesn't sound like a terrible idea, I will maintain my current blog to it's high standard, so, let me know what you think bloggers. If you like the idea, give me a shout.

mikey

That sounds interesting Mikey. I bet you were devestated by the Tsunami when it happened. It's always seemed like a far away, mysterious place, with very gentle people.

Looking forward to reading this.

I like that "Feel My Heat" number, it has a really cool drum sound, catchy little tune.

Bye for now.

Hi Mikey,

Having a good weekend? Hangin' with Jed? Hope are are well. He is quite the little man. Sounds like a good idea to me, why not? Should be a hoot. I've never been to Indonesia so it would be interesting for me to read about your adventures.
I put up a couple of pictures of my friend Beverly's sculture work on my blog. I think you will like them. They are of a willow tree sculpted out of clay and set as a wall. Also hope you can make it to her show. Keep on rockin'. Peace.

Fantastic idea Mikey. I know a man who own a company over there where they handcarve historic replicas of famous furniture. Some of their own traditional furniture are really such stunning masterpieces.

Beautiful country. I almost went to Bali 3 years ago with a friend of mine shooting a film there but our plans fell through Perhaps another time. I would love to hear all about it since I missed on going and I am a history/geography buff!

Great idea. I think I shall go start a blog about the making of a toe shoe now...Molly. (kidding)

Mikey, A blog in the past tense, of you discovering yourself in Indonesia, sounds very intriguing. Go for it!

Too bad I'm not there to type it for you. I type 140 wpm with almost perfect accuracy. It's the piano skills. I type faster than I think!

Good night now, to you and Rene.

Love,

I set up a separate area on my website a few years ago for my brother's travels (year backpacking in Australia and several years in South America) and people loved that they had this place to go read his adventures. I think having a spot for your journal is a great idea!

Dear Mikey

Last summer my family (husband & 3 kids) took a journey to Fiji. What an indescribable experience!
Like you, I want to journalise it.

I did not keep a diary while we were away, so I will have to do it by memory, but sometimes retrospect can add a quirky perspective to the story.

What a great idea for your new blog!

I just read my second sentence - I call it "indescribable" yet I want to write about it, therefore describing it!
One or the other, Dale. Make up your mind...
LOL!

Hope to see you "on the top floor".

Cheers
Dale

Hey, a travel blog is a great idea! I love reading travel stories (Michael Palin is a guily pleasure of mine). I myself went to Australia and New Zealand a couple summers ago. Indonesia sounds terribly fascinating, and I'd love to read about your journey.

Hell yeah!! that's awesome, I will definitely come everyday and read your new blog. I'm sure there's a lot of exciting stuff in there. =) Oh Man, I'm very excited now...

Oh yeah, I was wondering, how much is a pack of smoke over there, Mikey? It's $4.50 here, and it's kicking my bum pretty hard. Worse, it's $7.00 for Kreteks; and that just makes me sad. I call my brother back home once in a while and he always teases me about the Gudang Garams.

Anyway, looking forward to the new blog, Mikey! Please say hi to Rene, Rachel, Pete, Simon, and Stuart (Rachel's bass player, I thought he was pretty awesome in 'The Attic')if you see them. I adore you all.

Salam,
Karel
