OVER-COOKED PRAWN...

I had a great time on the show last night, caught the train, met Rene in central London and had a great coffee, Rene had her lunch, although I wasn't hungry. Then Rene went back off to work and I caught the next train home.
First thing when I got in, was check the blog, really love all the great shout's, thankyou very much, I really appreciate them, and then checked Rachel's blog, and realised there had been some problem with the loop. This show's how one person's misfortune, is another's fortune, as I was able to watch, I don't care if it's sad to watch yourself, I enjoy it, although I do enjoy my music more if I close my eye's. It is hard for me remember everything that goes on in the show as well. Anyway, you get the picture, I'm glad I saw the loop.
I'm going to try and work on my new song tomorrow, it's nearly ready, just a few more word's to come and then I can record a demo. I didn't mention on the show, but Indy my nephew came round for his guitar lesson on Monday evening, and I'm happy to report that he'd definitely been practicing, and had also improved greatly, I was really proud of him. So, I turned up the heat, and showed him some stuff that was a fare bit harder, but he took to it quickly. We'll see what happen's next week.
I don't know if the F1 grande prix is on this weekend, if it is, I would appreciate you letting me know, I think me and Rene are joining Shaun and Lisa and Jed, spending the weekend at my mum's boat. Shaun caught a huge carp there last weekend, and I was hoping to do the same, although truth be known, I used to sit next to my brother and fish just beside him, copy his tackle and bait, and still he would catch all the fish, it's alway's been the way. I truly love fishing, but am not very succuessful at it. It will also be very nice to see my mum of course, and have a relaxing time, but if there's a F1 GP then I don't want to miss it.
Rene's much better now, and the sushi went down a storm, I was very proud of myself, I accompanied the sushi with prawn and udon soup, there the big fat noodles. I do enjoy cooking, but sometime's I'm a little too passonate, and get far to angry about slightly overcooking the prawn's, I am a fool. Rene's got a work thing tonight, so I'm home alone. Anyway, this has been a long blog, thank's all and take care, and you could alway's Give Me a Shout'

Hey Mikey,
I LOVE the loop, I can watch a bit, go about my life, come back and hear PLASTICINE!!! It sounds so amazing, my husband hooked up an extra set of speakers to my computer (isn't he a doll!!, I think so) So all the better to hear my favorite show, I think my neighbors are diggin it too, I hope! ;)
I loved this long post, you are getting really good.
Although I do most of the cooking, my husband went to culinary school, and really is much better than me. So, if I overcook something, I get really annoyed. Stupid, I know! Oh well, competition is good (in SMALL doses) for us. Glad Rene is all better. Have fun fishing, though, I hope for the fishy's sake they make a clean get-a-way!

See Ya next week....YIPEE!

Hi Mikey, another great show!! Plasticine was great and thanks for the shout, appreciate it. Wish my stomach was as flat as yours but maybe that's a bit of a girly thing to say. Jill and myself are going to try to diet but we do like our food. I thought Pete was on good form last night. Good luck with the fishing (if you go) Have fun. Mark

Aw, I loved getting to hear 'my Pigeon friend" again, reminded me how damned good that song is! as well as "We will fix it" I swear Mikey, your songs have been sticking in my head as I'm out grocery shopping or doing laundry, I'll find myself whistling little riffs, such as this one little tender sounding thing in that one song that goes" You're my winning ticket girl" I'm not good with song titles, never have been. But I could sing the song and mimic the guitarby whistling it so you'd recognize it. :)
Another one that's been sticking in my head just lately for some reason is "Tourist". And these are Mikey oldies, I realize!
Anyway, this pic made me laugh because I was thinking "You look a little red there, Mikey" And then I read above it the words "Over cooked prawn" LOLOL
Have a good one, my friend. :) xoxoLisa

Thank's Lindsay, thankyou Sue, hey Mark, remember I'm laying down mate, a little girly, but I take it as a compliment mate, cheers mate. Nab, thankyou, the winning ticket line is from 'Clever girl'. That is such a great compliment Lisa, thankyou so much. Glad you liked my burnt prawn joke, that was the first sun of the year for me, when me and Rene went to Spain, and I baked without cream and loved it. Thank's everyone, take care.

I'm glad you got to watch the loop. I remember you saying that you don't always get to. I have a new laptop and for some unknown reason could not get a decent connection. I'm hoping to get it figured out in time for the next Attic.

I think prawns are lovely even if they are overcooked a little.

Take Care

i'm really beginning to like your guitar style, which I was just oblivious to at first few listens. It's very original and interesting. ( I hope that came out right!)
I love the useless facts on the ITA show!
blog on!

best of luck

Hi Mikey,

Thought it was about time I posted on your blog again. Loved you in the Attic yesterday - as always. Your voice has a very special quality, and Pete's suggestion about you doing the vocals while Rachel played piano on a Stevie Wonder song (it got a bit buried)sounded like a really fine idea to me.

The delay with the loop worked well for me too. When it was finally up and running, dinner was finished and I could sit in uninterrupted bliss and soak it all up.

And no, it's not sad to watch yourself - the other side of the camera always gives a different perspective.

BTW, please watch the lobster efect. In Australia we know skin cancer is a real killer, and it's we fair-skinned Anglo-Saxons who are the most vulnerable. Look after yourself Mikey.

Love, Mx

Hey Mikey,
It's been awhile since I've commented on your blog. I just wanted to say that you are the perfect co-host for Rachel and just love your "style" ;)

I bet you are very excited about going on the road soon...such great exposure!

Last night I watched Woody Allen's latest movie called, "Match Point". I believe that is one of the best movies I've seen in years. If you haven't seen it..treat yourself soon.

Best of luck and much love, Denise

I know what you mean Mikey, I recall sitting at the edge of a lake with my grandmother sitting in a chair and I beside her anxiously preping my bait, looking for the best spot to cast out in and she just tosses it out in front of her and you know what? She caught a fish every time and all within the first few minutes. What did I catch? NOTHING!!! Oh wait I did catch of few sucker fish - bleck! It's some kind of wierd fish mojo I reckon!

Hi Mikey!
Loved last week's show.
Tell me, did it feel surreal when Pete sat next to you, speaking like a cartoon mouse?
Just wondering.
:)
And to have him sing along with YOUR songs...I'd have to pinch myself.
It makes me happy to see how supportive he is of talented people like yourself (and Rachel and Simon,of course). I love that both he and Roger are well aware and interested in up-and-coming bands. I don't think that's the norm with musicians of their stature.
Hope you're having a great weekend with your family and Rene.
Sushi is THE BEST! mmm love it!
See ya!
Love,

Oh I must be married TOO long, it took for my husband to say (as he looks over my shoulder, as he is not interested in blogging or fandom, naturally) "hey that's quite the sexy pose mikey's doing" Yup it is! NOW, I notice.....;)
Enjoy your weekend.
Oh and trust me, my hubby is 100% hetero. He was just teasing me as a way of masking his jealousy..ha ha!

First off, sorry for a belated shout. I've got piles of homework up to my eyes.

Great to hear Indy is doing well. Will he be on ITA eventually?

When fishing, I am normally the lucky one. It sounds a bit arrogant, but the last time I went to mammoth lakes to go fishing, I was the only person to catch fish amone my dad, my cousin, uncle, and me. And I had two, but they were too small to eat. I used to catch more fish, nowadays it seems like fish have gotten smarter or something. Perhaps I need a new lure.

I'm not much of a sushi person, but I do enjoy octopus, and whatever my uncle catches when he goes fishing. One time he caught a huge tuna, and we had fresh sashimi from a fish caught that day. Good stuff.

And about the over-cooked prawns, I always like to say it is better over cooked than under cooked. At least all of the bacteria and stuff that may have been in it would be killed for sure.

GMaS!
