PLASTICINE.

As requested, here are the lyric's for Plasticine (in her pocket).

My girl Rene, well she like's rocket,
She's got a crazy dream,
Ain't tried to block it,
Cause in this mixed up scene,
Well you just can't knock it,
Yeah she wants me to be,
Plasticine in her pocket,

Plasticine in her pocket,
Plasticine in her pocket,
It sounds extreme, but I think I like it,

I'm the plug, yeah I'm the plug,
And she's my socket,
And I'm the chain, I'm the chain,
And she's my locket,
Yeah I'm plasticine in her pocket,

Plasticine in her pocket,
Plasticine in her pocket,
It sounds extreme, but I think I like it,

Plasticine, do you know what that means,
To be plasticine, in her pocket, yeah,
Do you know what that means, to be plasticine,
Plasticine, do you know what that means, to be plasticine,
Plasticine, do you know what that means, to be plasticine.

Thanks for posting these terrific lyrics Mikey!

You have real talent to be able to write about personal experiences and feelings in a way that gets the emotion across but is also very clever and interesting.

The first time I ever heard the word plasticine was in the Beatles song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds": "plasticine porters with looking glass ties..." Thanks to you, I finally know what the word means! And maybe I now know what that Porters' love life is like :)

Say, I think you have a typo in the first line. It currently reads:

"My girl Rene, well she like's rocket"

Is it supposed to be:

"My girl Rene, well she's like a rocket"

I absolutely love what you say in that first verse about supporting Rene the "rocket" and her "crazy dream".

Keep writing the great songs, I've got a feeling that you're just getting started.

Cheers,

Tom

Thats some clever lyrical work. I had that song stuck in my head all day today. I love it. Ooh, by the way, I am finally getting the recording equpiment for Christmas. I'll finally be able to share music with you and anybody else who wants to hear. I'll probably cover some jazz songs and then write some origional stuff out. Thanks for the lyrics! GMAS.

Hey Tom, thanks for all the lovely words, I never knew that about the Beatles song.
About the first line of the song, it is certainly not a typo, the word refere's to the salad leaf, rocket, which is peppery and very good for you, I grew loads of it in the garden. Sorry to ruin that for you, it's an obscure lyric, but a true one, Rene does like rocket.
Thanks for your comment Tom, I love reading your posting's.

Hi Mikey
Just been looking at your blog for the first time (better late than never). I really like the beach photos and especially the dog (being a dog lover myself) My Sindy - see Koos_F's blog) is the most loving dog in the world for me and Koos, but she's terrified of other dogs, and so...she's rather aggressive to them on the lead. In any event, I've watched a few "In the Attic" shows, and remember especially your song "you" (?) that you played quite early on and that Pete particularly liked too (same birthday, same taste!). Be nice if you could play it again at the basement jam - i'll be wathcing, even though I can't come. Take care Mikey and keep up that speedy repartee!!

Dear Mikey

I quite enjoyed reading the lyrics. I have to admit that I have never had the opportunity to hear you sing Plasticine.
My loss, I'm sure...

Wrist guards are another good item to invest in!
Especially when you need to keep your wrists safe for playing guitar.
A bum protector is a good idea, too...
I know of people who have worn hockey padding while learning to snowboard!
LOL
Every year I promise myself I'm going to learn to board, but my skiing gets in the way!
Maybe Rene & I can learn together!

I can't wait till you come out with a CD!

Hi Lucy, thanks cherab, yes Rene really does like rocket. Give your boyfriend time, I'm sure he's got some lines for you. Hope your doing ok, I hope to get some downloads for you guys but not for a little while. Take care blog buddy.
Thanks very much Vally, we'll see about that, glad you managed to have a look around, thanks for posting.
Hey Dale, thanks for the lovely posts, wrist guards, what a great idea, and bum guards, I need that the most, my poor bum was black and blue last time.
Its a shame that youv'e never heard me play Plasticine, I've played it several times on the show, I hope you will be watching the Basement Jam now it is free, anyway, thanks for the post here, take care, and thanks for the invite, your very kind Dale.

P.S.
If you get a chance, would you please watch the video I posted of Rufus Wainwright and Burt Bacharach?
If you do, could you tell me what you think? The intro is rather long and a wee bit cheesy (although Dr Dre supplied the beats), but it gets better with repeated views.
J'adore Rufus (but I love all the Attic people too, natch!).
(I drove Rachel crazy with my obsession, but she loves Want One - by Rufus. I sent her his first 3 cds).

Thanks for the explanation of that line Mikey. I'm glad it's not a typo.

Now I like it even better!

What a great meaning for the word rocket! You were so right to use it that way. Those kind of words or phrases that mean something special to you but have different interpretations to others, are the best.

Thanks for the opportunity to post and comment on your lyrics like this. Please put up some more if you feel like it.

I've been singing that song to myself off and on for the past couple days. It's one of those tunes that just make you feel better. I wish I could join the veiwing masses for the Basement Jam this Sunday but I have to work. Bummer. That picture you posted is now my desktop background. What beautifully tranquil scene.

It's stuck in my head, too, and I have to say, just reading the lyrics, they are very sexy!

As well as devoted and loving and passionate. Sexy, that's right!

Did you know that there's a kind of vibrator called a "Pocket Rocket," and that's what I thought you were singing about the very first time I heard the song?? I'm blushing a bit.

Oh Brina, I did not know that, but thankyou for the information, pre-warned is forearmed. I think your right, this is a sexy song, I give myself to be changed and played with, at her every whim. The very act of her wanting me in this way makes me happy, its quasi-masochistic, although I don't actually suffer any pain, I want her to mould me. Although at the end of the song, I ask if anyone understands what it all means, like I'm having second thoughts or something, its not that, I just saying, Do you understand what I'm saying here.
Thanks very much Brina, don't get embarassed, take care.

Mikey dear, I wasn't really embarrassed, and I love knowing more about the song.
It sure does get stuck in the head. You know, that's true of quite a few of the songs from "In the Attic", some of yours, some of Rachel's, some of Simon's.
Congrats on the new camera. The photos are gorgeous.

Dear Mikey

Do you know what time the Basement Jam is going to be webcast?

I may be able to watch if I can go to our Internet Cafe - it has high-speed. (I only have dial-up on my computer & it doesn't work on Who/TowserTV).
My family & I have breakfast plans that morning, but if I know what time it's at, I might be able to work around it.
If I am able to watch, I might hear you play Plasticine...

The temperature dropped to -15 C last night & it's snowing again!!!

Thanks!
