Show number 9.
Finished recording my new song last night, it all went really well, although some of my levels were not exact. I sit and listen to new recordings obsessively, but then leave them and move on to something new.
Can't believe were on the penultimat show, doesn't time fly when your havin' fun bloggers!
On my way now, to catch the train to London, then it's across London on the underground to Richmond, it take's me just over two hours, but I end up sleeping most of the way because the motion of the trains sends me to sleep.
Hope everyone gets a good feed, and can either watch the show live or on the loop, thanks for all the great comments on my blog, I will catch up soon I promise.
Let me know if you enjoy the show, give me a shout.

Good work on finishing the new song. Have a great show tonight.
Nothing better than finishing a project!
Will be watching live.
Recording is a great buzz just like writing a song. The moment the thing comes together is such a rush, it's such a high, it's awesome. I do the same thing. Play it over and over, delighted and stunned.
hey mikey
good news on the recording, looking forward to who tv tonight, can't believe its episode 9 already!

Hi Mikey, me and Mark will be watching tonight
J
I thought that was a really lovely exchange between Pete and yourself before you played Invisible. Wonderful song Mikey.
I would be so nervous playing my guitar in front of Pete, I'd forget how to play it..
Beautiful songs Mikey! I especially
loved watching Pete and Simon
rockin' back and forth and
bobbling their heads to your
music.Very cool innit? :O)
I hope you have a full CD
available soon.
I enjoyed the show today, sorry you had such an ordeal trying to get there :)
Great Show Mikey...sounds like you had a hell of a time getting there!!!
I have to say, you all have such a cool vibe in the attic.
Thanks again!

Great show Mikey!
Enjoyed the new song. When are we gonna see Mikey amplified? I saw that Fender neck sticking up behind the sofa.
Hi Mikey, another great show. The feed was great this time for me. Pete was getting into when you were playing. I bet you were more stressed out than you looked with the journey. Jill and myself enjoyed your songs. Brilliant as usual. Have put myself forward to be the Blogger on the show next week. Hope your journey home was OK. Mark
Awesome show, funny, interesting, inspiring.I remember Rachel threw forth the idea of a blogger coming on the show...
I want to be the blogger on the show,
we can all jam together!
Except I'm in the US, so I suppose I can't do it. Or I could put the trip on the credit card...
I'm putting in a bid, anyway, for the blogger picked to be on the show.
It would be %#$&ing terrifying, but waaay cool.
But just having a blogger in there would be great. I'd like to see Justin in there, he'd have good stories.
It takes you two hours to get to the studio every week?!?! Oh my Gosh..there's dedication right there..Thanks, man!
I didn't catch the live show again today though. My classes are just PACKED on thursdays. I'm sure it was another excellent one. Man, I still can't believe I missed you talking Indonesian..I'm so pissed at myself right now..fuckin hell..
Selamat tidur, Mikey.
Karel
Dear Mikey,
So glad you made it to the Attic today. Your dispositon on the show today answered a previous question. Are you still so easygoing? Yup looks like you are. If it had taken me 41/2 hours to get anywhere, I would be frazzeled and not so upspirited.
Plus you preformed brilliantly today. You sang your little butt off.
I got a bit emotional today, listening to all of you. So sad it is coming to an end.
I got all caught up in the blue, red and grey. I sounded like a nutty fan I think, I even had a friend call me and ask me if I lost my mind. (i'm totally embarrassed) I have to pay you a big compliment. Even though it was the fabulous Pete as your substitute, I missed you! We all did.
I look forward to next weeks final edition.
Bye for now!
Mikey, you were excellent as usual. Your new song, don't remember the name, sorry, was very good!! I will be looking forward to your CD. When will it be available?
So sad the attic is coming to an end. See you next week for the last time.
Zoe
By the way, I loved your shoes! Nice shoelaces. Very red.
As always, loved watching you on the show ... you and Rachel always play off each other so well. You just seem so laid back, even with your delays in getting there. Again, as always, loved the music.
Great Show Mikey! Load of fun! LOVED Invisible
Everyone in the chat said that Mark T and Jill would be great to consider for the Blogger guests on the show...please encourage Rachel on this. They are such quality people I think it would be the perfect pick!!
Take care!
Molly
Invisible was the name of the song.
I liked the ref. to being in a "Zoot Suit" was it meant to as a homage?
Are you able to post mp3 downloads?
I don't have "acrobat reader". It's so frustrating!!!
Well Mikey, you have arrived (only slight pun on your adventure getting to the studio yesterday).
You know you're important when a TV show starts with a note saying mikey is running late!
Hey, check out my Blog if you get a chance. Dad has some drum head art they're auctioning off to help the people hurt by the Katrina storm.
Hi Mikey,
I think every week the show and your songs get better and better!
I loved Invisible, I love your voice when you sing, it has "colour" as we say in Greece.
You were hilarious yesterday.
Even though it took you a decade through rush hour London, you were at your best! And Pete being the supporting act...well, how does that make you feel?
My Thursdays will be so boring without the Attic, but then I'll see you on the 4th of December.
Until then,
take care
:-)

Keep on truckin'!

Hello Mikey
I'm a left-handed triangle player
I think your songs are good, but I particularly appreciate your voice.
You see, lots of people sing, and very well, but to be handed a voice that is one that is instantly recognisable, like say, Rod Stewart's one (whether a person likes Rod's voice or not is another matter) is a thing many vocalists just won't ever have that distinction, like Van Morrison, like Joe Cocker.
You don't have an ordinary voice either Mikey, there is a very nice tone that happens when you are singing when your voice rings.
I liked invisible, but plasticine, made such an impresssion after hearing it once, I can still hear it now so that must be good
good luck
Terry
I actually am invisible, I'd read that a rich man has as much chance of getting into heaven as a camel through the eye of a needle, in fact, the camel apparently would have more chance, so I tried then disappeared.
I always was small I wouldn't eat me sprouts, hid em under the bed that's why I never got a girlfriend later cos they're still there.
Yes the sprouts not the girls or maybe because I took so long then stood there like Mr Bean with 45 pairs of underwear on.
We were hippies by then, I'd be sat with the prospective girlfriend candi date in my bedroom when suddenly, Yuk what's that blimming smell? they all exclaimed, all 24 candidates through the teen years. I finally became a monk and that is where I learnt the secrets of the triangle.
I nearly did, before I became a monk, play electric lead triangle with a one James Hundrix, but he thought I kept outdoing him.
I might learn to chime bells next year.
My main talent is to Yodel.
On holiday in Austria one year I was mistaken for a deserter and instantly drafted, whereupon I had to carry the tent with room enough for 45 soldiers and a small farm, it was not easy jumping through the mountains, skieing and the likes, it was one afternoon that I shot off the edge of a mountain, it was then I began to yodel, they found me hours later buried head first up to the shoulders my arms had to be amputated and I re-learnt the left-handed triangle with my feet.
If you play sometime at Albert's Hall I will play for free for you, on the left footed electric triangle, I get half price on the bus.
hey Mikey, new musician and artist joining the blog universe.

Mikey~ Where are ya Darlin'?
I hope all is well. Your voice was AMAZING on Thursday, you were so "ON IT"!
I also have "Plasticine" running through my head quite often....I hope to hear it again soon.
Take good care~
*singing as I log off:
"...in her pocket....."
Mr. Mikey:
I often have read comments about you on the different blogs. I decided to look you up, so here I am.
I noticed that you like the movie "Brother Where Art Thou". Hey, I totally forgot about that movie. My wife got me to see it...it is a crack-up. The music is so simple-like...but memorable!
My family (not me) is from Louisiana, and after visiting there many times down through the years, I can say I have swam in those bayous. The movie reminded me of those swamps.
Where do you go camping where you are? Great stuff, the outdoors. My brother once met Chris Bonington (climber), from England, if you ever or never heard of him...check him out.
I wish I could comment on your music, but my computer feed is so slow and jerky. It is virtually useless for many live or re-peat feeds. I am running a fairly current system, but the bandwidth must be my failure...or?
Any suggestions? I know I am still on dial-up...I suppose that is it.
Have a great career. You are obviously working with people that know what they are doing.
Looking forward to hearing some of your music someday.
From "Sunrise Studios" (check the blog...it's down to earth),
Grace and Peace,
--Dan L.
Mikey
I loved invisible, I really love all your songs. I am patiently waiting for your album to be released.
Sorry to hear about your anxiety after the show, I have suffered from those in the past and I know how hard they are. You put yourself out there for us and we really appreciate it. I could imagine the post show transition back to your life could be bumpy. I do notice that you drink a fair bit of coffe as well. I love coffee but it does scetch me out a bit if I am feeling vulnerable.
Hopefully the last show will be looping for the weekend Here in the states this week is kinda crazy with Thanksgiving.
Looking forward to the last show, hopefully its the last show of the season and not foreva.
I listen to you
Thanks Mikey
hope you are feeling better dear!
Hi Mikey
First timne I've posted on your blog but I have really been enjoying the series . . looking forward to hearing you perform live on the 4th. I'm a guitarist and whenever I feel nervous playing the fingers in my left hand tense up - obviously you know Pete very well but has this ever happened to you when you've played in his company?
Steve
Hey thanks everyone, I can't believe what a horrible journey I had, it really wiped me out. I'm blaming it for the fact that I've only kept my Indonesian journal up to date. So there you are, anyway just a few answers and all my thanks for posting here;
I do get nervous, but as soon as I'm playing, I feel stronger and have a great time.
Hey and I don't really drink coffee, that's why it sends me a bit funny on the show, I only drink milky tea with honey or milkshake.
Thankyou for patiently waiting for my CD, it pains me that I haven't got anything for anyone to hear, but hopefully, that will change real soon.
As for playing the electric guitar, well that is something only time can answer.
Anyway, let me know if I havent answered your question, and thanks everyone for posting and putting up with my terrible corespondance.
mikey
it's OK, comment when the time finds you.
We aren't going anywhere.
i'm with justin.
your comments are a bright spot, but you don't have comment each and everytime.
we want you to keep yourself healthy and your creative juices flowing.........
xo
