This is Spinal Tap...

Here's a picture taken from an old sketch book, probably when I was at Art school. I still like it, maybe because of the colour, I suppose this is a bit of a doodle as well. Let me know what you think?

Sorry I've gone a few days without a blog, I know how frustrating it is to check someone's blog, only to find that they haven't updated.
I do understand, and if I ever feel I need time off from blogging to write or whatever, I'll let you all know before hand, I think that's fair.

Stayed at Pete's after the show, and travelled home on Friday, felt pretty tired and decided against trying to go back to drum loops. I'll leave it till monday, when Rene's at work and I have no distractions.

Had a lovely take out Chinese meal for dinner, beautiful, I love Chinese food, and today, I've helped Rene build the wardrobe, and twisted my neck, I'll be fine, me and Rene are staying up to watch ' This is Spinal Tap', top film, I'm looking forward to it, take care blogger, give me a shout...

Spinal Tap is one of the funniest movies out there about Rock and Roll. Especially since they are all Americans immitating Brits.

I tried to do some recording today, in between Stephani coming in and deciding it was time to shred paper, and check accoms on internet for our trip. We'll be staying in Croydon.

I was amazed by Pete's film, and how he uses Ableton with those drum loops. The ones that come with the Pro Tools software are lame, so I'm hunting for some good ones like Pete's.

I really enjoyed the show this week Mikey, plastercine was excellent, and the percussion added was just tremendous.

Hope you have a nice weekend.

Happy day,

Hi Mikey,
What a fantastic "In The Attic" show the other night. I didn't have the time to view the loop until around midnight and wow, I couldn't stop watching until it was over at 2:30. I loved your songs Inside and Plasticine (spelling?)

I have my art degree in education and although my current career is technology related I still hope to start painting again someday. Your artwork is very cool. How large is it? I like how you combined the black and white with color.

Take care,
Denise

Hey Mikey, I responded at my blog but I forgot to mention, thanks very much, for the pep talk about songwriting/singing/guitar, I really believe you. Actually made me feel a whole lot better about this issue, you
really put my mind at ease on this.
Thanks again.

Hugs! Lisa

Mikey, another really cool sketch. Made me think of a question, which did you get into first, art or music?
Jerry Garcia struggled in his teens to decide whether to make art or music his primary form of expression.
After some success in music he was later able to continue his artwork. Just curious how it was for you?

Spinal Tap is one of my favorite movies.

There are a few Who fans I know that remind me of the Paul Shaffer's character Artie Fufkin.

Other then Christopher Guest (Nigel) and Michael McKean (David), I love Fran Drescher's performance (Bobbi Flekman).

One favorite line..."you don't do heavy metal in dubly". David's girlfriend

Another: "It's a fine line between stupid and clever." David

and another: "We've got Armadillos in our trousers. It's really quite frightening." Nigel.

one more: "But you're not as confused as him are you. I mean, it's not your job to be as confused as Nigel"

I love that movie. Probably watched it like...40-50 times. It's great. Enjoy Mikey!!!

Dear Mikey

Now I want to watch that movie! I've never seen it.

Your "doodle" is brilliant. I've never been to art school, but I have a little talent.
At the moment, I don't seem to have the time, so I am concentrating more on my writing. I love doing that equally as well.
I find that posting on my blog allows me to work on my writing skills to a certain extent.

Cheers
Dale

Mikey,
I've been out of the blogging loop the last few day myself. Took the family on a 4 day vacation.
Batteries are recharged and I'm ready to head back to work.
I'm also ready to finish(well maybe not finish) 3 songs I have in the works.
Hopefully some demos to follow soon.
Good luck with your recording. I'm going to try and catch the loop of In The Attic since I missed it.
Cheers,
AndyW

Hi Mikey~

Just popping by to say hello! I am too tired to critique your art. My brain is mush from our concert and playing last night and sleeping most of the day. Tomorrow!

Have a great evening~

Thanksgiving is a celebration of when the pilgrims came to america, met the native americans and had a feast. Theygave thanks for what they had, and for each other. It is like the same food as christmas. turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie etc. What is bank holiday? We don't have that here in the U.S.

Hey Kevin, I peeked at your fave movies section, I think you'd dig "This is Spinal Tap".
It's hilarious. I saw it when I was a
teenager, too. Instantly became one of my all-time favorites.
Hehe, I'm remembering the scene where
"David" and "Nigel" are pissed off,
arguing with someone, their manager probably, and they both have these hideous cold sores on their lips, lol ...

Hey thanks bloggers, I won't answer individually here but I can answer some questions.
Justin, I remember sitting on my own at 3 years old, drawing and singing about what I was drawing, nothing's changed really, but I've always loved both things.
Kevin, thanks for telling me about the pilgrims mate.
Denise, the picture is tiny by my usual standard, its about 12" high.
Karel, no I haven't seen the mighty wind mate, what's it about?
Anyway, thankyou everyone that posted a comment, if I haven't answered you, post again please.
Thanks again bloggers.
