MY FISH TANK.

I hope that everyone had a great New year, Rene was upset by her sister and the washing machine's started leeking, then I noticed that one of my fish was dead. He was an Illusous Rainbow, a particularily beautiful one, he looked fine, but obviously wasn't, I felt bad because I hadn't studied my fishtank for a few days, so I wouldn't of seen anything wrong.
I love my fish, maybe I sound like a bit of a nutter, but I do care for them, and they all have very different personalities. I have had my favorite's from time to time, I've also had really horrible fish, but some real character's.

I'm alway's sad when one dies, and take there bodies over to the sea, and put them back in the wild. My fish tank is a tropical freshwater setup, I've always loved Marine but never felt fully qualified or rich enough to start one. Maybe one day.
I'm still working on my new song, I've found some new chords to add, but it's a constant process, that I don't rush or press myself too severely for completion.
I've also been playing with my new violin(which I'm barely playing at the moment, actually making quite an awful sound, like a screaming cat).
And my new Yukalele, which I'm not sure of the proper tuning, I'll have to ask Pete, but in the tuning I have it, it sounds cool.
Other great news, I had Luke and Ryan over the other day, we spent the whole day together playing driving games(Gotham Racing 2) and playing the Bazooki, which Ryan was playing very well. It's so great to see them both, I havent seen Ryan in ages, and he's getting really broard and strong, Luke keeps growing everyday, I think he's my height at the moment, and still growing. They both drive, unlike me, and have got lights and sound system's in there cars, it's what the kid's do here I suppose, I think it's quite funny really.
Anyway, I've posted a photo of my fish tank, thanks for posting on this blog, take care and GMAS.

Hi Mikey
Ukelele tuning is GCEA, seen from top to bottom. However, the first string, the one closest to your chin, is thin. That means the G is a high note, almost as high as the A (obviously).
The GCEA sounds like My dog has fleas.
How I know (or why am I bothered?). Val couldn't resist buying a ukelele from the music shop around the corner.
She already does a nice rendition of Blue Red and Grey.
Love
Koos
PS
Did you get the cd with the Basement Jam pics (and my music) that I sent to the Eelpie address?

Hi Mikey,
Sorry to hear about your fish. I have a small koi pond in my backyard and have become quite attached to my 3 little koi (Sammy, Frank and Dean) perhaps I'm a nutter :)
Anyway glad you're doing well and good luck with your new instruments ( I love the sound of violin, but imagine it's a difficult one to master)
Take Care,

Wow,those fish are pretty. Mine were much smaller, though. I also have a pond in my back yard, but it isn't finished yet and it just filled up with rain water. I'll try to get a picture of it with my brother's camera. For the tuning on the uke, go to http://www.chordfind.com/4-string/ It has a bunch of tunings for banjo. I use that site for learning chords, its really useful because it shows variations of chords. KOT.

Mikey,
Your fishtank is gorgeous indeed! I am the caretaker of the fishtank we have in our waiting room at work. The patients really like it. I guess it helps them while waiting for their xrays.
I do the same with our fish when they die. My co-workers think I'm nuts but we don't live near water so I make a little coffin for them and fill it with water and bury them behind the human resources building. They have nice trees to shade them.

When I die I want to come back as one of your fish!

Take care Mikey!!

Mikey,

Your fishtank pictures are really beautiful - so full of color. They actually look like paintings to me instead of photos. Sorry to hear about your fish, but I really like the idea that you return their bodies to the sea.

Thanks for your wonderful comment on my blog, mate. Your music and art inspires me so I'm happy to try and return the favor. If you get a chance, check out my blog again and read the poem that I just posted about New Orleans. It was a lot of work, but I'm really excited about how it turned out.

Cheers,

Tom

Mikey~ Your aquarium is breathtaking. I am so sorry about your fish~ When I was growing up, my brothers had a fantastic fishtank, all done up to look like "Atlantis" (because they liked that song by Donovan!LOL) It had Roman columns..some in tact, some crmbled and falling over.It was like a dream world to me when I looked at it. They had a lot of Angel fish, and I remember my brothers always running to my dad when one had died saying "Get rid of it before Mom sees......"
(because she would cry when any of them died)
You're in good company, Mikey.....and nowhere near a "nutter"!!

I love that you put them back in the sea.

Much love & good luck with your new stringed instruments!!

Much love~

Hi Mikey!

I have been pretty busy and only blogging and not commenting much. But here I am!

Nice Fish. I LOVE tropical fish and if I was not traveling and commuting so much I would own one.

I am hosting a chat this Sunday to get everyone who loves you together as well as some of my personal friends and blogging friends together to catch up! If you could pop by or even Rene for even a moment your fans would love it! Simon will be there and I am hoping Rachel will pop on by like last time. 9PM YOUR time.

I am glad to see you had a lovely Holiday with both you celebrated. Luck and Ryan remind me of my 4 younger (yes I said 4!) brothers and their cars. It is nuts how they deck them out nowadays!

Take care and hope to hear your new song soon!

Nice fishies! I prefer to swim in the ocean with them... I remember once swimming alongside little seahorses which was trippy. That reminds me, I better check your Indonesian blog. It's been a while. Hope you are stellar and we get to hear your song before too long. Do you post mp3's? You need to get on the IAC charts! Whenfore the CD? Spank Simon for me... Isn't he producing? Anywho, hope you give your fish a good send off. My heart goes out.

Mikey,

This is a great page for learning uke chords, it shows the fingering so you can play along with the Beatles tunes. It also has the tuning tones for GCEA, which is probably the most popular tuning.

Hi Mikey, thanks for the nice words in your post on my Blog. Love the photos of the fish. Sorry to hear about one dying. I have kept tropical freshwater and marines in the past. I found marines need a lot of attention and had a Puffer and a Lionfish (sometimes called Scorpion fish) It has been about ten years since I kept fish and there are a lot of different varieties in the shops now. I also had Oscars which I fed Ox heart. We plan to set up a freshwater tank when we move. I'll keep you posted. Mark

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that about your fish, Mikey. That sucks! My ex and I were kind of nutters for our fish. We had a few tanks going at the same time.lol A 30 gallon and 2 10 gallons.
It hurts losing them, I cry every time.
They do have their own personalities and it's easy to get attached to them!

Beautiful photos, I set one as my wallpaper. :) xoxoLisa

Mikey, I'm so sorry about your fish passing on. Pets give such joy, but such heartache when they go to sleep.

I wanted to let you know I put that song on my blog, and also it is on MySpace. www.MySpace may be a great website for you to have demos of your songs - ITS FREE and it has millions of members. Simon set one up for Casbah Club and Foy has his songs on one. My one is located at:

Anyway mate, I'm sorry you popped in when I wasn't my best the other day. I'm feeling much better. Music heals the soul. I can't wait to hear your new song too.

Hello Mikey,

Sorry to read about your fish, losing a pet sucks.

I hope you are doing just fine, the new song sounds exciting.
ROFL, when you wrote Bazooki did you mean "bouzouki" the greek traditional music instrument, or bazookas the gun? LOL. Can't imagine Ryan playing very well the latter in your house, hahaha.

Lots of love

Dear Mikey, I'm sad that your fish died. It sounds like each one is important to you. We saw SUCH beautiful fish and marine life at the Monterey Aquarium. Really one of California's gems, that place. I hope you can go someday. Their jellyfish exhibit is one of the most romantic and ethereal places I've ever been. swoon...

You and Rene would love sharing it together.

Hey, I'm listening to a CD that's a soundtrack from the movie "I AM SAM," from a few yeras back. All Beatles stuff, covers, and "I'm Looking Through You" is covered by the Wallflowers. Listening to it, it's such a Rachel-and-Mikey song, I could hear you two singing and playing it in my head and see you dancing. It would be perfect! and a cameo by Pete and one by Simon!

Love ya,
Brina

P.S. Love is all you need.

So sad about the fish...I always wanted to start a salt water tank up, but I know its a lot harder to take care of than a fresh water tank. We are thinking of adding a tank to our home but it might be too much and it wouldnt be fair to the fish. Hope all is well with the other fish and they have a beautiful enviroment to be in. Great pictures......michael :)

Everytime I did start to write something to make conversation with people, suddenly the screen would explode, things would scroll by so fast- you guys saw it!So then I would just scrap what I was going to say because it became obsolete that fast!
But glad you guys were there, you really helped make it fun!

Mikey,
I setup an artists MySpace account for you. There is a 4 song limit on there. You can swap out the songs you wish to feature if you like, I picked:

Plastercine (In Her Pocket)
Tourist
Feel My Heat
Wanting

Would love to add the song lyrics.

It takes a little time to have all the songs show up, there are currently two songs online right now, it takes up to 24 hours.

I will need to get an email address from you, right now it is setup with my email address and I'd like to make sure you have control over your own MySpace account, that way, you can edit your profile with what you would like etc and also access your email posts. You can view the page at:

http://www.myspace.com/mikeycuthbert

I tried to get musicmikey but it was already taken.

Shoot me an email so we can correspond privately about details etc.

Go great to "see" you and Rene in the chat today! It was crazy but fun!
All the best with your recording session tomorrow.
I'm so happy Gary set you up on MySpace.

I said this in the chat - but I really love your aquarium. Beautiful fishies. I have one goldfish (left). A koi ate one of them, then my daughter accidently dropped the killer koi on the floor when she and my husband were cleaning the tank. oops...the one that survived (his fin and tail grew back after being attacked by the killer koi) has the HUGEST buggy eyes - I'll have to post a pic. We recently added these adorable teeny frogs - they're only about 1 1/2 inches. We feed them frozen bloodworms. It's true that it's never too late to have a happy childhood, because growing up we never had such critters around the house!
Take care Mikey!

Not that people driving cars is bad, some people need cars for work and whatnot. but since you don't need to drive (it seems), you choose not to. Well, I guess you do in the virtual world. Dear Mikey

Yikes!
I've really gotten behind in my posting & blog surfing. My computer was down for a bit.

My son was quite interested in the photos of the fish tank. Very beautiful. We have a fish bowl with 2 goldfish, "Spoons" & "Chicken Nugget"...

I hate it when anything dies. I find that I always have to say a little prayer, if only for closure.

Thanks for the comment on my blog. I really appreciate it.
It finally snowed here - one foot!!!
It was getting to the point where I was becoming a wee bit worried.
My older daughter went to the hill with the high school today. I went later in the afternoon after work. It was AWESOME!
As we were leaving, it began to snow again. Yippee!
Tomorrow afternoon is a womens' fun ski lesson program that I go to every year. It is held once a week for 5 weeks & is so much fun. Not only do we learn, but it's a great social event, too!

Good luck with your new instruments. I would love to be able to play violin.
My younger daughter came home yesterday with the question:
"What is a lute?"
What IS a lute? Do you know?
I could look it up, but I love hearing from you on my blog & I want to coerce you into commenting on it!
LOL

HI to Rene & take care.

Hope this finds you well! LOVE the songs!! I started a station and have added you to it. Press Play is the name and it is on the IAC. Blog about it and links going up tonight.

Cheers!
