Vienne, Metz, Paleo and St.Polten.
I travelled with the band from Monte Carlo to Antique, which is near Lyon in France. The traffic was terrible and I arrived at the gig late, it was incredibly hot, I had no signal on my phone, and the show had been moved forward by half and hour so that we didn't have to hear the death metal band playing on stage. On a more positive note, the place was gorgeous, apparently built by the Roman's, it was spectacular. IN THE ATTIC only lasted twenty minutes, the heat was to intense, but we all lived to play another day.
I travelled in the motorhome at the end of the night, heading to Metz Amneville arena in France. We were not doing an IN THE ATTIC show there, but The Who were still playing. Justin and I done some filming in a small wood beside the arena, where I played a yet unheard song. The Who's show went well, we packed up and left for the next venue, which was a day's drive away in Switzerland.
We arrived at the Paleo festival, Nyon in Switzerland quite early in the morning, we had travelled through the night, driving through a huge storm where lightning fork's rained down almost constantly, it was quite an experience. I didn't get much sleep and felt terrible, but I managed to get a couple of hour's sleep during the day, showered and had a great massage in the hospitality area, after which I felt re-vitalised and ready for an excellent show. IN THE ATTIC was brilliant, Rachel performed beautifully, so did Pete, all in all a great show again. I didn't watch the Who perform, but I'm sure they were great. We packed up the equipment and set off again toward's Austria.
It was another long drive, but in good time, we arrived at Lovely Days festival, St Polten in Austria. This was a great venue, and where I took the picture of the field of sunflower's. The site was very hot again, but I found a VIP area, with a small stream running through, looked a little harder, and found a very private location, where I had a skinny dip, it was lovely. Apparently, this place was under four inches of snow only a month previous, that seemed even more incredible because it was so hot. IN THE ATTIC went really well, everyone performing excellently. I also got to meet Tom, a photographer and old college friend of Pete. I watched The Who perform a brilliant show beside the Attic bus, where we had a screen showing the live feed going out over the internet. It took some time before everything was packed up, and we hit the road again, still travelling in the motorhome, it was another long drive to Munsterplatz, Ulm, in Germany...
To be continued...
We all had a great time camping, and the weather was kind, Jed loved the horses, and Shaun and I went fishing, but caught nothing, but still had a great time. I love the New Forest, thank's to everyone that shouted, take care all, and I hope your enjoying the journey, by the way, I do check my MYSPACE and I was very relaxed, I'm doing good and looking forward to coming to the US, cheer's all, GMaS.

HI Mikey,
Another well written blog entry. You are the best at documenting your travels. You have a gift for it!!
Thanks for keeping us in the fray. And, as always, there are so many of us, who look forward to your completed cd. This isn't meant to apply pressure. NO! I say it, so that you know, how well received your music is!! Take your time, get it right and make sure you are happy! :)
Take care and be well...enjoy your "down" time.

Nice stuff, dude - loving the installments; bringing it all back. Looking forward to seeing you and the usual suspects at Joe's and the Boston gig. I think my seat is behind the stage, but hell, I might get to see Pete getting his cuppa, eh? At least I am in the house.
Be lucky, mate - Paul.
Finally updated my blog. I hope all is well.

Great blog Mikey. Very descriptive, I can imagine the moterhome going over the alps...
You're going to be amazed by America. It won't be like you imagine from t.v and movies. least, this was my experience in 1977 for the first time.
Am getting ready for pilates excercise, and then plan on trying to do some writing later. I have a couple of funny videos posted on my blog if you get bored.
Regarding your comment: I normally catch a few moderately sized trout, but I only caught one small rainbow trout on that trip. I threw him back, he was too small to be a keeper. The lake is stocked with rainbow and alper's trout, although there are a few native brown trout. Alper's can become huge, up to 12 pounds. Thanks for the shout. KOKO.

Hi Mikey,
I enjoyed your latest installment. It sounds like touring is grueling but worth it to you. It sounds very much like what some Who fans go through to travel from show to show :-). You have a good time wherever you go, don't you? Gotta love that about you.
I bet your adventures so far could fill a book! But the blog is good enough for now :P
It's great way to remember all the events over the last months while waiting for it all to start up again, thank you! :0)
Take care

Hi Mikey,
Nice to read your travelogue. I don't know if you saw mine, but I posted your picture with me and Rachel from Berlin- it's back in my July pages. You are very photogenic, may I say.
Gary is right that you will be boggled by America. Remember the old saying- Americans think 100 years is a long time, and the English think 100 miles is a long way? You won't believe how big this land is, and stunningly beautiful. It's going to be quite the adventure for you.
All the best,
Anne-Marie
Sorry about all the deleted posts above, Mikey- they're all mine... Blogger ID problems.
