PORT HOLE...

I had a great laugh on the show last night, I felt very lucky to get to watch it on the loop when I got back this afternoon. I was very proud of the submarine port hole that Rene and I had made the previous evening, and blown away by all the clothing, everyone looked great, Rachel done a fantastic job, I love my team zissou clothes, so does Rene, and she's a bit jealous.
It's great to see the live version of 'We will fix it' up on Attic Radio, and I think I agree with Natalie about the tempo. I was pleased with the song's I played, and totally enjoyed everyone else's. I hope everyone had a great time watching.
I've still got decisions to make and thing's to do and listen to, so this is a short one, thank's to everyone who support's me, take care all,

mikey

The lIfe Aquatic is one of my favorite films - it was great to see you guys get into it so much.

FYI - Wes Anderson's first film was actually called Bottle Rocket and is also very good - very Wes Anderson (with a "first film" feel to it).

Anyway - I enjoyed the show and thought you did a great job. Everyone looked great - and sounded great too.

Looking forward to more. Hope to see you guys in North Carolina, USA soon ;-).

Mikey, I heard the show went great! I unfortunately had to work, so I missed it... if you could manage to somehow get it back up again for a bit, I'd be eternally grateful! Glad you had fun. :)

Cheers, and I'd love a shout, next time! :D

Mikey:

You know, I saw that porthole first thing, and though I could not stay and watch the rest of my first attendance LIVE (I was on vacation from my job), I was almost immediately thinking, "Was that Mikey that drew the porthole?" It had some almost 3D ish-ness to the bolts. It made me think of you.

I saw most of the loop. It was fun.

It is about 95 degrees plus here these days, so as I was listening (I said "Listening", not "watching") to much of the loop, I was unpacking a new wall A/C unit to help us through the summer heat. It can easily go a whole month or more at 100 degrees or higher, and on into the next month, and the next. We are 40-50 miles inland from LA, so the sea air does not get to us all the time (sometimes, but not always).

Have a great week.

Peace,

Hi Mikey-
That was your porthole?? Oh well I'm not surprised then. It was perfect! The colors of the set and clothes looked wonderful too.
I'm in trouble now for staying up all night watching the show! I was fighting something and now I'm quite ill w/this nasty stomach bug, headache etc.
But it was worth it!!
Thanks for all the fun. You sounded fantastic. Can't wait to see you live.
Have a good one and tell Rene she did a great job on the porthole too!
I'm also jealous of the Zissou wear...
Bye!
Love,
Sue D.

That was the most sophisticated show yet; from the set designs to the authentic costumes. Not to mention that powerful rendition of "We Will Fix It". And, I told you how I felt about "PLASTICINE".

Keep on doing what you do best (which is a lot of things, apparently!!)

Hello Mikey,
this was a funny evening yesterday with "The Life Aquattic". If I think back I laugh again. Your music is great. Hope to by your EP on the road. Is it possible to buy it earlier, because my first chance is Berlin. It's so far away. Hope to find the airstream in Berlin or Ulm to say HELLO to you all.
Best wishes from me

The Show was awesome last night. I left Rachel a comment saying how funny it was and how much of a great time I had watching...

It's my birthday in TWO DAYS!!!

Rene informed me that it is the same day as her mother's birthday and your sister's! Happy Birthday to them also!!

:)

ON June fouth I am coming to London for afew weeks so my actual birthday will probebly be alittle bit "uncelebrated" as we will be busy but the trip itself makes up for everything. I am SO extremely excited to be going to europe for the first time I can't wait!! :)

Thanks again for an awesome show!

Hi Mikey, I am sure that I posted here the other day but it's disappeared or I dreamt it. Anyway, I hadn't realised that Rene and yourself had made the porthole. It looked really good. I've a Freshman guitar on order. Just a cheapie to practice on. Have a great weekend and let Rene have some of the Zissou clothing to cheer her up. See ya!! Mark

Funny how your portal...is now using port holes.

Apologies, for my crass word play...

I keep on missing the bloody show Mikey, I don't have an internet connection at home...and can't get one until August (because I'm on the move again).

Hope that the sun is shining in Southend like it is here in Camden, and that the work side of things is coming along well. I've released myself from the world of smokey joss sticks, shut blinds, tea, and recording in my room today (Sunday), am and having a hippy one lounging around town.

Good luck on the EP. I'm finding that mine - which typically of me is hugely ambitious to realise - is looking good but giving me lots of new tricks to learn. Am trying to get my head round the art work for it at the moment. I must be the biggest CONTROL FREAK since Lehmontov in the Red Shoes.

Peace and Love,

Tom.

Sorry Mikey I had to miss most of The Life Aquattic special. Work calls, as you know ;-). I am also sorry I missed seeing the last sketch you posted. Nice self-hand portraits, yes? I do like your artwork a whole lot. Much to be admired about you and your friends, musical and artistic. All of you bring so much joy to 'us'. I am curious, by the way, to see the artwork you selected for tee shirts to sell in Barcelona. yes!

Aw, poo. My comment got lost. Blogger don't like me today!

Well, I posted roughly this:

Dear Mikey,

Does this mean you will be re-recording WWFI (song titles by initials only is THE mark of a SuperStar) at the slower tempo? Either way, I am so excited for your new album to come out!

Don't worry about keeping up with the bloggers. Just do what you need to do, and know that we are all still here when you need us.

Much Love,

Oh!

PS: I did heard you say to me on ITA that you have in fact gone riding horses on the beach. That was too cool. It's so fun, innit! Horses are gentle souls.

I am so glad I didn't miss it, I caught the show and it was so cute!
I really have to rent that movie, I've never seen it. The re-enactment made me want to, I actually got caught up in it!lol :)
Hope all's well with you guys.
I found myself whistling "Tourist"lately. Instead of Clever Girl. Couldn't get it out of my head. I'm telling you Mikey, you write the catchy tunes! Not only that, but you write songs that people can relate to, which is why these songs keep popping into my head lately!
Have a good night!xoxoLisa

Mikey,

I had a nice long comment for you about the picture in the previous post, and how fab you looked in the Aquattic costume... but Blogger ate it. :(

Short version:
Costume = Hot (past-life fisherman? I saw the fishy you caught... NICE ONE!)
Top Hand = Finger knuckles are a bit off
Middle Hand = Perfect
Bottom Hand = Thumb is too long

Hope this finds you well!

Mikey,

Thanks for the Shout out on the last show. It means alot. I have a concept to bring to you , it may be fun. How about every week, you and Rachel select a challenge song and ask those musical fans to submit their own version for play on the show. I just did a version of behind blue eyes, and would love to get it heard somewhere...

Just a suggestion..
