NO EXCUSES...

I've been sorting out stuff for my EP this week, there are so many decision's for me to make, and I want everything to be perfect, already busy people are going out of there way to help me, which I'm amazingly grateful, but time's ticking away, the tour is really soon, I'm really looking forward to the tour, and of course to this week's IN THE ATTIC special 'The Life Aquattic' on Tuesday. I don't know what Rachel's got in store for us all, but I'm sure it will be brilliant. Tune in and see, I think it's the last one before the tour.
I've also been recording and working with drum programming at my home studio, I'm really happy with how the drum's are sounding. I'm starting to write a new song as well at the moment, I'll keep you informed.
I've posted up another drawing from an old sketch book, let me know what you think?
The weather here has been pretty poor throughout the last week, and I think we are in for more of the same to come, the building work has been put on temporary hold, this has allowed me to record at home, but the scaffolding remain's, and my garden look's like a building site.
Thankyou to everyone for posting here, and leaving me such kind words, appologies for the slack blogging, I've no excuses. Hope everyone is well and happy, take care all...

Hi Mikey,
I'm new, but only as an blogger. This will be my first comment on a blog. I follow you, Rachel, Pete and Simon since the first "In the Attic". I hope to write something on my blogside tomorrow. Your painting is great. I love modern art. Do you know the exhibition of modern art DOCUMENTA? This will be every 5 years in my hometown. Wish you and Rene a fantastic weekend with no rain. First off, sorry for not commenting. Had some injuries- check out the blog for more info. Love the picture. In spanish, we are learning about art and stuff. Its really basic but fun. Me gusta su cuadro or your painting is pleasing to me for a literal translation. Glad the drums sound good. I think of the drums or beat as the soul of a song. Sometimes drums are not necessary (like with acoustic guitar, for example), but they definately play a key role a lot of the time as you know. I've decided not to use a drum set in any of my songs that I am going to make- I am going to use congas, tamborines, shakers, etc. When will I buy them? I don't know. I hope its soon. Perhaps I can make some with my uncle who is a great woodworker- Who knows? Glad to see you back blogging.

Hi Mikey,

I'm so excited for you. The EP will bring your music to more people along the tour.

I won't be catching "ITA" live this Tuesday because I'll be flying to Vancouver, B.C. I'll be sure to blog some beautiful Van. photos during the 10 days of my stay. It's a city where the mountains meet the ocean, with gorgeous bridges, and people from all over the world live there. And eagles! Great energy. I have wonderful family up there and I also get to go to my very first professional conference as a therapist-in-training. This is a Big Deal!

I do like your hands from the sketch book. Did you know that some of your artwork stays in my head, almost like music? Interesting!

Be well. Love to Rene. Have fun in the attic. Love, Brina

No worries Mikey. Wow it's coming together, and so soon you will be on your way to tour and do In The Attic on the road. I can understand you must be tremendously busy right now with final details. I love the sketch, looks like it started on green pen, then developed into a richer painting, nicely done.

I posted a new song to my IAC page and am busy working on a couple more, although we'll probably slip off to the beach on the scooter real soon.

Hi Mikey,

Fascinating drawing. I see one hand giving, one ready to receive, and the third closed off to any interaction. Maybe those are our choices at any given moment in life?

Looking forward to tomorrow's "Life Aquattic"!

Cheers from LA,
Chris

Hi Mikey,

I just wanted to let you know that I'm going to do my level best to get the word out about your EP once it launches. I am proud of all your diligence and passion for your music and for this project.

As to this sketch...

Handcuffs. That is the first thing that comes to mind. Weird, huh. Handcuffs...made from a hand. Somehow I doubt that's what you had in mind? I'd be curious to see what you have to say about this drawing.

Regarding weather: Sorry you have gloomy skies there. Our summer here is cooler than usual, but sunny as can be. Have you ever ridden a horse on the beach? I love doing it & went yesterday. Such....freedom in it. If you haven't, I would highly recommend doing so with Rene some day.

Lots of Love,
-Natalie

PS: That pal of yours...what's her name....RACHEL. She is a diamond. Truly. Sparkly and precious.

Hi Mikey!

I have been slack in my blogging too. I guess its just that time of year where I'm not much on the computer. But I do make time for ITA.

Your drawing is great. I did one like that myself when I was in Art classes. We had to draw our own hands. Mine was on blue paper and drawn with purple and white chalk. A friend of mine wanted it so I no longer have it.

Looking forward to tomorrows ITA. See you then.

Zoe
I have a drwaing of Pete up on my blog. Tell me what you think if you get a chance.

Dear Mikey,

If you do "shout-outs" from under the ocean on Tuesday's ITA, I could use one. Tonight while I was writing the final paper for my grad. school semester, the computer ate half of it. Totally threw me for a loop, that did! I laughed and cried all at once, and had to delay my Vancouver trip so that I can reconstruct my paper in time to hand it in tomorrow p.m.

So...I'll be watching live after all. Anyway, have a great show and thanks for always reaching right out to us bloggers. Love ya!

Hola Mikey~
How are you?
Very very cool painting.I'm trying to read the palm in the middle!
Very distinct lifeline!
Glad your recording is going so well.
It's going to be so cool when we all have one in our hot little hands.

Don't worry about being slow to blog. I think that's how everyone around here has been lately.
It's very hard to keep the momentum going, I think. I'm like you- I get lost in blogland and it's kind of like a drug, you get this high, but then you get burned out and need to back off for a bit. That's how I feel anyway. AND like you I feel guilty for not updating it! All this pressure over something that's supposed to be fun! geez...
Anyway, such problems we have, eh?
Can't wait for tonight's show.
Have fun! It's going to be a good one.
Take care,
Lots of love,
Sue D.

Ok, I am being silly, sorry.

BTW, I woke up too early this morning and saw Imagine: John Lennon. Though I have seen it dozens of times, it always makes me happy/sad. In some footage, you bear a striking resemblance to John. Did anyone ever say that??? I'm having a bit of Deja Vu, maybe I've done this before?
Ah well......
Anyway...just here to show you my support!
Have fun today, I can't wait to see you all in the little red beanies...ha ha.

Mikey!!! HAD to come and post on your blog about how GREAT you were on AQU-ATTIC today!!

Em was just coming in from school when she heard Plasticine......"NO WAY!!!" she dropped her backpack and ran upstairs to hear.......We laughed so hard at all the lunacy! That is a welcome change around our way, because people have a tendency to be SO serious about everything. So, my husband, Emma and I like to "loon it up" when we go out. It's lovely to see you lot being silly, just for the sake of ....being SILLY!!
Thanks for the music, a brighter outlook on Life and all the laughs you give.

You are truly loved, Mikey!

Hi Mikey, the show was great, didn't realise that Rene and yourself had made the porthole. Hope that the decision process is not too difficult. I'm sure you'll make the right ones. I think you should share the clothing with Rene, keep her happy as she's going to miss you. Can't remember if I told you I've ordered a Freshman guitar, just a cheap one to practice on. Well, I'd best go. See ya! Mark
